never... it (and Uncharted) are Sony only.

Bugger, what a way to force me to get the PS4 (if it's backward compatible).
-
• #8129
It's not.
-
• #8130
but seriously, you can get a PS3 cheap, or borrow one or something.
-
• #8131
But PS4 will be able to stream those PS3 games pretty quick as they are made in house.
-
• #8132
It's not.
I thought it could be in the future, using cloud technology?
-
• #8133
oh yeah, but that's not the same as backward compat :P
Hell, they could stream an Xbox game if they really wanted to :) -
• #8134
Having read all about the fuss about the Xbox One, I decided not to get them and go for the Sony instead, which is a shame as I loved my 360.
-
• #8135
You do know they ain't out yet? You don't need to make up your mind straight away.
-
• #8136
I know, but not only Microsoft did very well in putting me off their Xbox One, but still stick to their original plan about it, otherwise by now they would have made announcement that they're changing the system to address the complaint people have of it.

Although they could probably help their PR if they got a move on.

I would like to connect a PS3 to my DVI/VGA computer monitor and route the audio through my USB soundcard, is this possible/worth investigating how to do?
-
• #8140
Audio is the problem really. I bought a set of headphones for PS3. Other than that HDMI->DVI worked fine
-
• #8141
Are the headphones a regular 3.5mm jack?
-
• #8142
no, needs to link to the RCA ports and also to the PS3 specific port on the back. They have volume control as well. You could just use an adaptor for the RCA ports, but then you have 0 volume control.

• #8143
I honestly thought the last of us was out on PC. Gutted.

If your USB soundcard has digital optical-in it should work. I did that with my 360 when I first moved to London.

Anyone done that flooded hotel basement yet? [Shivers]
I threw a molotov and ran like hell.

Ah right, cheers. I have hardware volume control on my soundcard so that should suffice i reckon

Exactly why I am trying to work out if it's worth me getting a PS3
-
• #8148
Me too, but having said that, there's no reason why it's not worth waiting a while to see what happen next.
There's a new videogames where Ellen Page is in (whom the girl in The Last of Us look remarkably similar to) called Beyond: Two Souls, ETA is October and also seemed to be aimed at the PS3 too.

I did find it funny that the Xbox One consoles at E3 were actually high-end PC's running the games instead.
Sure the PS4 crashed a few times, but at least the games were running on PS4 dev units (ie: actual PS4's). -
• #8150
Really so they weren't actually xbox ones? Ha ha
I suppose the last of us won't ever be getting a PC release?
