I started it this morning, gave up after an hour.
Load of crap
I didn't mind it. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Red Dawn as being on the one hand, a pretty fucking rad movie to watch as a child, and on the other, such a fine example right-wing nuttiness. It's just such a funny and scary thing that the movie ever came to exist. There was even a nod to it in one of the early levels when you walk into a gym and there's a banner that says "Go Wolverines."

I also like FPSs (not that I play may) which involved humans and take place in real environments.
Started Borderlands. Not sure what I think.

Oh wow, I didn't know about the connection, I'm going to download that. I like FPSs too, but I'm also really impatient. I didn't like how clunky it felt, having to press X to climb a ladder and such.
I loved Borderlands, I managed two days played before I finally called it quits.

Yeah, it was pretty clunky in that way (ladder). And lots of invisible walls. Especially after Deus Ex, which lets you go anywhere and everywhere you can manage (more or less).
And yeah, it was written by [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Milius[/ame]. Just reading that, I saw this:
The character Walter Sobchak in the film The Big Lebowski, made by his friends the Coen Brothers, was based on Milius.
Hilarious.

Borderlands - I downloaded the GOTY edition when it was cheap on steam, haven't got around to playing it yet but once wedding is out of the way and winter is here I'll probably crack on with it.

Just finished Homefront. FPSs are so multiplayer oriented now that the single player is almost ignored. "Give them a couple of hours." Lame. Glad I only paid 70p for it.
I warned you!

Played through Human Revolution a second time, just to do the side quests I missed and get the pacifist achievement.
Finished game, didn't get achievement. Bollocks.
At least the stupid boss fights are easy when you know how to prepare for them.

So, anyone want to loan me their copy of Deus Ex?
I have plenty of games if a swap is necessary...

I'm starting to get hooked on Counterstrike again, since the update It's really kicked it up a notch for me.
Can anyone recommend some good servers with a good rotation of classic maps? I've got the UK CS servers but they are often packed with too many players.

I'm doing a second run through on deus ex setting.. started off with trying to get the pacifist achievement and whatever the one is where you don't set off any alarms, but lasted about an hour before I started shooting people :)

I'm tempted to give it another run through shooting everyone and everything. Don't think there's an achievement for that, but there should be.
Then again, BF3 beta should be upon us tomorrow, so I might be otherwise engaged.
