Maybe for solo, but I want split screen local multiplayer for work time fun... and as much as I ache for it, I don't think battlefield will ever support local multiplayer.

There is a 2 player co-op mode as well as a single player mode in battlefield 3.

That's not what I want though! I'm talking 'old school n64 goldeneye 4 player split screen death match', with actual people in the room to laugh at when they die.

It's the one thing IW does right, Trearch not so much, and battlefield has never bothered with.

Makes me sad. I'd rather play with my mates in the room than some 12 year old americans eating cereal in their microphones and calling me a fag.

Has anyone tranfered data and licences from an old Xbox360 to a new one ? How fiddly is it? And how long does it generally take?

You should just need one of the HDD transfer cables and the rest is really straight forward.

Yep, 1 safe landing in 162 attempts. I find it ridiculously addictive though.

I stand by my original comment, it IS a console game that's been ported to PC. It was NOT developed for PC then ported to console. I'm not saying it's bad, in fact I want it for the PC for the DX11 as well.

I didn't mean to say you were wrong. Just drawing out the fact that it isn't a straight port. So yes you are quite right, it is a console designed game. But for the PC they tweaked the rendering for DX11 and adapted the engine for keyboard.

Pah Battlefield 3 will top COD. I promise you. This is the first year I'm not going to buy a COD game.

Saying that I think I'll play some Black Ops tonight, really fancied some MW2 as well recently.

Anyone played Civ 5 long enough to tell me thumbs up or thumbs down, major pros major cons etc.?

I've played it for about 2hrs before on a mates pc, it looked great, but I didnt really trust his hugely biased towards strategy games review of it.

I only ask because it's on Steam for £7.50 till Monday ;)

Do it. (I've never played it, and don't like strategy games) but £7 is fuck all.

For the price, it's worth it. I paid more and while I don't regret it, It hasn't grabbed me like the previous Civs. It looks lovely and has a lot of eye candy and neat effects but I prefer the gameplay in Civ 4. IMO 5 simplified things a great deal which is good if you're not into micromanaging but I miss some of the techniques and strategies for specialising cities and keeping populations happy.

I really fancy a night of doing f-all tonight and throwing myself in to a couple of games. Mass Effect 2 is still begging to be completed.

Think I spent best part of 7hrs yesterday, after a long while off games, playing Empire Total War (fucking great game when you've worked out the in-dept mechanics of it) and kicking the french and spanish out of america ;). Then another 3 on Fallout 3.... just wish my press-release copy didnt constantly crash.

Go for it - better for you than the pub, and it's an achievement of sorts completing a game ;) hehe

Finally got my gold hdmi cable connected from my radeon to my 37" LG! Time for some CoD or CoD2 I think ;D
