Battlefield 3. I can't wait.

Maybe for solo, but I want split screen local multiplayer for work time fun... and as much as I ache for it, I don't think battlefield will ever support local multiplayer.

4 xboxes and 4 tvs?

I've since rethought my initial views on the first boss. I revisited the save i made just before the boss fight, just to try and be a bit imaginitive.

So far my favourite way of killing him is to chuck one of the explosive cannisters at him then shoot it (it takes a couple of succesful goes), closely followed by a fluke where he killed himself with his own grenade outburst.

Any idea if you can get close to him and use a lethal takedown?
I completely forgot about throwing things around! That might make it a bit easier!
No chance of getting an easy kill with a takedown though :( He gets you if you get too close, which is pretty annoying as it means you can't sprint past if you find yourself in a tight spot.

If you make sure to have some kind of explosive haul, then that helps with any boss. The first one I jusy EMPed then naded twice, only needed a few shots after that. Also keep a few praxis points if you're not sure where to use them. You'll know soon enough which Augs you actually need.
That was my tactic, EMP, frag, then emptied a whole clip from the assault rifle into him - still standing wtf? Ok, run to more cover, recover some health, prepare to unleash another clip into the guy, aim, pop out, pull the trigger and he dies after 1 shot.

I noticed he starts throwing more and more grenades as the fight goes on, so figured as his health gets lower he throws more. This means you don't have time to sit in cover and recover health before the next grenade lands next to you and you have to move again. So killing him as quickly as possible seemed to be the best method.

If only I'd picked up that rocket launcher...

Heh. I did pick it up. Then I fired both rockets into the ceiling for fun.

I fully upgraded the 10mm - laser, silencer, damage, extended mags - the works.

It's great for light and medium troops but fuck all else. Two head shots for the heavies and about 40 for the bosses? Naff.

There was also a stage in Hengsha when it was my only weapon so when that hacker guy asked me for a gun, I had to tell him 'no'.

Should have upgraded the revolver instead.

I gave him my upgraded combat rifle. I only had it and the 10mm. And the 10mm was going nowhere. I ended up using 10mm + revolver (upgraded with exploding bullets - fuck yes! Mini rocket launcher. If only it was silent) for most of the game. Until spoiler I started using the combat rifle again to just mow down the zombies when I got tired of sneaking around them.

I fully upgraded the 10mm too... wish I'd done the combat rifle, as there seemed to be an abundance of bullets for them.

I did not pick up a single non-lethal weapon the entire game. I accidentally picked up ammo, but would quickly drop it while making the "ewwwwww" sound. Which was a problem when you had to use non-lethal take downs on people. (The gang witness dude in the apartment building in Detroit, and the dudes in the black suits with the chip in Shanghai). And by problem, I mean, a bit more challenging and fun.

What had no end of bullets seemed to be the automatic handgun (aka, uzi?).

The machine pistol had ammo everywhere - that was my second most used.

I started out completely non-lethal but then I got angsty by the time Hengsha came around.

Did you take on the boss with the 10mm? I tried. I died.

I took the first boss out with the sniper rifle, the second boss took herself out, the third boss with the grenades + revolver, and I'm still not exactly sure what happened with the final boss.

I found they got progressively easier. Or maybe it was just my augs made me more awesome.

Typhoon and grenade launcher + Painkillers and powerbars = unstoppable

setting it on easy probably helped a tad too.

Can you change the settings part way through a game?

Yeah. Thank fuck. After the first boss I was not going to fuck around with the funless frustration again.

Ha! Nah, couldn't do it - but will probably try another playthrough in a week or so. Definitely want to try Give Me Deus Ex instead of just medium. And also will follow a different tactic. Not sure what that'll be yet.

Same. I will play hardest level + shoot more people in the head more often.

Maybe I'll try to beat the game without crawling through one air duct.
