So I managed to kill him pretty easily first go. I ran back to the right behind a pillar, then just head shot him to death with the 10mm. I'm pretty sure he bugged though as he didn't move.
-
• #3353
oh if it did that for horatio, seems I was just quick enough with headshots to keep him still
-
• #3354
Still can't kill the bastard...
Got 10mm pistol and machine pistol
i'm just too slow probaly
these video games clearly aren't for the elderly -
• #3355
put game on easy, and enjoy the story... dunno if I have a save going that far back any more :(
-
• #3356
thought of that.
#Swallowspride
(I did beat halo 1 on legendary in the day)Or i could start again and ditch the 'no killing' rule, become a mean mother... and go see him with a rocket launcher. That'll teach the c*nt
-
• #3357
I think I EMP grenaded him first, then a rocket, then another rocket and I think that's all it took.
Was a bit rubbish though.
Completed it yesterday, started again straight away. Exploring everything, hacking every computer I see. Would have thought I'd have more praxis points by now, but they seem hard to get, even if you do as much as you can?
-
• #3358
you cannot get them all, so you have to pick and choose what augs you get
-
• #3359
The second boss is just as much of a ball ache as the first. Doing some reading, it turns out certain augs make it a cake-walk. If you don't have those augs, it's pretty tough. Bit of a disappointment for what is meant to be a very open ended game. Still pretty awesome, and pretty rad there's a Montreal level (shame it all takes place in the Big O! - well, as far as I've played, anyway).
-
• #3360
Well I had almost everything bar a couple of eye things, radar things, and typhoon, oh and maybe silent jumping, without exploring/hacking much... can you really not max out?
(upsetting)

gonna swap out my ps3's hard drive this week, managed to borrow a large enough hard drive, from the most high velocio, and will be jumping from 60gb to a mahoosive 500gb. But I am confused by how much space 36gb is being taken up by game saves and system updates. I have no idea how people with the smaller hard drived versions are getting along...
Will probably try to play a couple of games after the operation is complete as well.

• #3362
Don't forget the downloadable content that also take up quite a bit of space.
Nearly filled my 60GB on the xBox.

• #3363
I finished with a bunch of unspent praxis points. The press guide that came with the pre-release said you cannot get them all, so I believed them and was very careful spending. With hindsight, I wish I hadn't have been and bought some of the other toys.

They all needed to be 'more awesome' I reckon.
Nothing felt 'im bionic, and mint'... stupid battery system mainly I think.

First thing I upgraded was the batteries.
I've had a shitload of fun with the 'punch through walls' move. That made me feel like a bit of a badass.
Wow mark, you've overtaken me! I haven't reached the 2nd boss yet. Still in Shanghai/hengshin island or whatever it's called.
I'm definitely going to start the game again as soon as i finish as well, if only just to fucking find the god damn hostages in the first mission.
-
• #3366
I still think the story was very good, really enjoyed it.
I agree that the augs arn't as much fun as say Infamous 2, where you can destroy shit loads at once. However, the augs are a little more realistic
-
• #3367
Realism in a game is facial annimation. I want to fuck shit up in style ;-)

Well next game I'm reviewing is Driver SF... I wanted Dead Island, but my Editor said it was unfair that I kept getting the AAA titles..
Driver SF looks pretty cool though, and I'm currently sat in SF so hopefully will try get some photographs of the routes before I return to try the game out

Let us know if it's any good.
Loved Driver 1.

Playing on "Give me Deus Ex" mode, finding it a nice challenge, trying to stealth most of it (after getting a load of grief from NPCs about my bloodbath in the first mission).
The first boss was a pain - but eventually took him out with 3 remote explosives, an EMP grenade and a rocket. For all the fact that Jensen is meant to be a stealthy, agile sumbitch, he doesn't move around well enough - I'd like a roll into cover move to supplement the cover to cover roll really..

I had an all day session on Sunday (which I skipped a polo tournament for. Whoops!), and an all evening sessions on Tuesday night when my girlfriend was out having work drinks. Because I work from home, I have to be super careful not to start playing during the day. Got maybe two hours in yesterday?
And on a day like today, I have to be more careful not to just go out and start drinking in the park!
But yeah, I'm gutted you couldn't actually play in Montreal as a city. Would have been AWESOME. Maybe DLC at some point.
-
• #3372
DLC is in the works apparently.

• #3373
I've never played Driver, but been checking out video footage of this one. It looks pretty good, although the whole shifting thing is a bit strange.
-
• #3374
I've skipped reading all the above to avoid any spoilers. Needless to say, HMV are 'still allocating stock' like a bunch of fucks.
Might just cancel my order and go to Game at lunchtime tomorrow and get the regular edition.

I dunno the advantage of any "limited" type versions, the press copy had no extra's and I still really enjoyed it
That being said, I'm enjoying the game. Can't wait till I find a silencer for my 10mm.
