Found a bike on the way home today, chains seized but should be a goer, what will I need to get not from cranks to ss and old mtb?
I'm around Weds, I'll try my hand again.. -

if it runs a threaded multifreewheel rather than a cassette, just get however-many-tooth freewheel to stick on, potentially you may need to rearrange chainrings to create a suitable chainline, shorten the chain to tension, use the limiter screws on the front mech (if not entirely seized) to create a kind of chainguide to stop the chain coming off the chosen chainring, and that should essentially be job done

Good find, what is it? If the frame has V brake mounts and horizontal dropouts, it wont be too difficult to make something half decent for polo! You at Cranks Tuesday?

Hey all, Sorry I didnt make it again on Sunday. There was an incident on Sat that involved someone punching me in the face whilst I was riding down the road so I was feeling a bit sorry for myself. Are we on for Wednesday?
-
• #1382
on purpose? i believe this person has impugned our collective honour. We ride at dawn!

On purpose. I was riding down St James street by sidewinder going at pace a guy runs into the road and punches me in the face before I get a chance to do anything so I hit the deck with my nose pissing blood. Guy starts running towards me ready for a fight so I just walked off. My head and nose hurt

motherfucker. i hope you werent riding the condor...
remember what he looked like?

• #1385
It's got cantis and semi-horizontal dropouts. Cranks on a tuesday? what madness is this?!
I had to clip some utter twat with my d-lock a couple of weeks ago as I rode up Trafalgar street, who stepped in front of my bike, kicked the front wheel and tried to push me off. Un-did the lock from the strap of my bag and gave him a short, sharp shock to the back of the shoulder/neck, and rode off (fast)...I fucking hate drunken morons thinking they're something special, he was probably from London, the level of fuckwits in Brighton on a Saturday is at least 4x. Sorry to hear about that Rich.

Shit man! That's terrible. So people need lobotomising.
Nice to catch up pre punch anyway.

Brown Pompino en route. Anyone got a spare V brake for sale/swaps? Danny, can I borrow your BB tool for Wednesday?
-
• #1390
Brown!? I've never liked the colour, but each to his own. I saw a white Pompino locked up outside Forfars on the corner of Trafalgar Street. It looked pretty slick for polo, a bit functional looking for riding in the street - no style.

Apparently the paintwork is a bit hit and miss, so polo should soon knock the corners off. Quite fancy it bare metal/clear, but that wasn't a factory option. Whatever - for the money, I couldn't find anything that came close. Went for the medium, which should be an improvement on the broken road frame. Hoping my game will benefit from the investment??
-
• #1392
No doubt that it will dude, having a primo set-up can only be a good thing.
The tournament should give you some ideas about things to try too, I know I learned a lot from seeing other people play. (Is that more optimistic sounding, Tim?)
-
• #1393
Awesome, you should go for a pink and brown colour scheme.
So yeah Wednesday, get there whenever you can, but if a few people are there from 3 we can have a knock about / 2 on 2?
I'll bring the BB tool for you Chris, no problem. -
• #1394
Thanks, D. Shimano sealed jobby, yes? Just spoke to On One and the frame's going out today. Haven't ordered a new bike for years! Last time must have been about '93/'94 when I when I was still racing MTB's and working in Dorchester Cycles. Oh, the halcyon days. Kona Kiluea if I remember rightly? Pre-internet and everything. Most of you lot probably hadn't even taken your stabilisers off! Anyway, old bike's in bits except the BB. If frame arrives early enough, I might just bomb into Lewes and get Future (?) Cycles to whip it out for me. Also haven't fitted a headset in years so I might need a hand with that/cutting the steerer (if required) etc. As you can probably tell, I'm quite excited!

I'm ordering 1 single capped and 1 double capped mallet head from Max http://www.lfgss.com/thread58425.html
They look fucking rad, people should get on it and actually get mallets which shoot straight.
-
• #1396
I'd like one of those!
-
• #1397
Mallet Tossers!?! I never agreed to that!! I'm down for Brutal Deluxe or Screaming Seagulls!! Word :)

Someone should def snap that up. It could be one of the bikes we use just as a sharer or something, keep it at cranks. It would be a shame to let it go but like josh said i guess no one is too flush at the moment unless we add it to the open budget ;)
All tyres end up the same way after you've been let loose on them!
