I was tested for coeliac by the doctor recently when a tummy bug wouldn't go away. I thought for a while there (wrongly, thank god) I was going to be a gluten-intolerant vegan. That would have been fun.

I only have one question - Is there a weight limit for the judges?

I'm recommending judges who weigh over 18 stone, as they are obviously cake experts!

It was. The island was vanilla and the mountain was chocolate cup cakes with cream and icing holding them up. All the stuff on the island was marzipan.
They syrup was corn syrup, jam, and food colouring.

Any chance you could pm me a biscuit recipe? Don't worry it won't be entered in to the contest but I need to make the prizes and I don't want to chance it on an untested recipe found on google.

No Problem. It's more of a formula that a recipe, but I'll do my best.

Firstly, as I said to Nhatt before, I'm well in for this.

Austrian Coffee and Walnut Cake for the non vegan / anaphylactic shock types, and then some other wonderful baked goodness for people with more niche food interests.

Granville, get off yer 'no meat, no meal' high horse, and bring back your notion that the well fed were genetically attractive back in Mesolithic times. Just cos you're a princess, doesn't mean you can't eat with normal people...

I'm trying to sort out a venue for this so approximate numbers would be really helpful. The planned date is October 3rd (Saturday) but if that causes venue problems it could be move to the Sunday.

I was thinking about doing it in the evening anyway, maybe arrive a 6, admire cakes til 7 then taste til 8.
