  • Nice man! I bought a couple of Tanglewood Acoustics from Andy's BITD. Late 90s it would have been. I had a dreadnaught which I then traded in for a Jumbo with onboard electronics that I played in a band of old pubrock geezers during a very weird time in my life when I moved to the suburbs (for a girl natch) and went temporarily mad. I have no idea what happened to the Jumbo.

  • Ta will check that !

  • Yeah - this is the first guitar I’ve had with flats. The electrics just get whichever 10 sets I’ve got kicking around!

Bit indulgent dropping it in for a set up but the frets need dressing anyway and he does such a good job.

  • Yeah - Hercules AGS - bout 14 squid on amazon now I think - got mine years ago at the guitar shop in crouch end.

  • Awesome - I’d like a dreadnought - the super folk is nice for small rooms. It sounds okay through a di on the fishman pickup it has but bit generic maybe. I’d love a tele too , might try and build one. Check back in 3-6 yrs 😄

  • Just got this shiny boi back from the hairdressers.

Some frets reseated, saddle fixed, pots and switches cleaned up, neck straightened, restrung and buffed to perfection.

oh and that annoying g-string buzz is gone.

    Chef's kiss.

  • Soz - misunderstood - yeah -those are audio technica mx50s - no Bluetooth but detachable cable and you can get an aftermarket lighting one. They good.

  • ya fam - pulled the trigger on a pair of those with blutooths+wires. hopefully they do the bsns.

    u only yolo once.

  • Any other other recommendations? I'm after something PAFish. I like a bit of microphony but not too squally.

My mate had a set of Creamery PAF-style humbuckers in his SG. Says they blew the stock Gibson pups out the water.

I’ve honestly never heard anyone with a bad word about Creamery. I’ve had two different sets and they’ve been excellent. The whole range seems to be a bit of a no-brainer.

  • Looks so good, what did you do about an amp?

In other news, I almost bought a banjo yesterday...

  • finger's hovering over a youtube approved Orange Crush. cheap and loud. it's how i feel.

    buy a pedal steel...

  • You can do better than that... Get something small and crunchy with vacuum tubes in it, that guitar deserves it... Even a Blackstar would be better than a little tranny thing... IMVHO, obvs... Don't let yourself down, m9...

Already been there, almost bought one in 1995... Was put off by the guy in the shop who told me to go away and come back in five years when I was a lap steel expert... Wise words...

  • White Falcon sound good even from here.

    TS: close shave.

Tune in to the Betsey Trotwood online pop festivus on shitbook and youtube at some unspecified time * after 6pm tomorrow, Sunday 13th, to see me with The Messengers Of God, completely fucking up on a song about drugs.

    *7.20

  • you're not wrong - something to trade up to in the new year, when i know more than 5 chrods.

SG's .... what should i be looking out for?

  • You're getting an SG as well?!? How exciting, is that for Kar so she can play Angus to your Malcolm? How cute... I've found them to be very attractively priced compared to most other Gibson models... You should be able to pick a US made one for under £500, no?

  • one of the probs with the WF (and probably most semis) is it's pretty hard to get above the 18th fret for any meedely meedely action without doing any weird thumbless fretboard grippy nonsense is real . Angus plays that SG for a reason.

the thought of K playing a blistering lead on BiB on a sweet SG while i do the malcolm yeti stomp has blown my omlette and i might need a lie down.

  • Mink optional, Vox amplification mandatory... Who wouldn't love a white SG Custom?!? Get an AC15, you fool!! It's got reverb and wobbly!!

  • oh fuck stop... i'm drunk and dangerously close to a wifi connection...

a sister rosetta SG clocks in at more notes than the WF... because i've now looked.

  • But that's what I'm here for?!? I'm that little guy on your shoulder telling you to spend way more than you want to... What are you gonna do, spend it on a car? A fancy watch? Don't be that guy... Guitars rule everything...

  • Sucks to be into watches and guitars.

Better than buying a set of golf clubs though.

  • Agree on the amp btw. The single-ended 10W Blackstars are honestly really good.

Nothing like as cool as a Vox of course.

  • I'm into watches too but soon realised I'd much rather have ten more guitars than that watch... It means I'll probably never own a 1016!!

Get an AC15HW, Russ... Do it...

  • fuckin watches. i have a phone with a clock on it. it's a quarter past nine, what else do you need?

i've always liked orange amps - their knob icons are cool.

  • i should buy a vox, shouldn't i?

    but bryan may tho...

  • But you deserve so much more than that, you've worked so hard to get here... Go on, treat yourself... It's Christmas... 🤑
