Right choice. Just fake the signature. Way less hassle.

Instead I'll offer to bring my Tele up for the twins as a spare...

Went into the music/books charity shop. Bought a vintage slim bodied trapeze tailpiece with steel strings. Seems a little small but couldn’t resist.
No maker on it. Will post photos later.

Was set up as left-handed. Strings are low quality and oooooold. Snapped the high E because it was so brittle. Removed all the strings, bridge fell off as is a loose piece of wood. Good too, as it sets the action way high. Frets are corroded from poor storage.
Flipped the nut 180 degrees, some of the tuning machines are a bit shoddy. Could do with being replaced.
Slapped on three top strings off the old Kimbara classical guitar.
Sound is quite nice from my top three strings, but the steel E/A/D sound awful.
Will think about buying some mid range classical/Spanish strings and maybe fabricate/buy a lower bridge, or else cut down the original a little.
Definitely poorly treated, and likely low low quality. No idea of provenance, but I love its shape.
Pics are pre-clean/string swap.

London I presume?
Genre/ examples of bands you're into and a bit more description would be good? -

They asked me to turn up at 5 for soundcheck, turn didn't arrive til 7... I was that lonely guy at a gig going to the toilet with a guitar...
Just as well I took it, Antonio broke a string during the first song... My Tele skinned a million times better than his, such power through the AC30 he was playing...

NGD.
For one third of original retail price (or half of what I sold my first one for) it's in great condition, tiny bit of pitting on the bridge which should polish out and a tiny ding on the back of the headstock which I'm not too upset about.
The neck feels absolutely incredible, it just feels like it wants to help you to be a better player. 5-piece maple and wenge with rosewood fingerboard and ash wings on the body. Great sustain and a surprising amount of volume unplugged. Pickups are great too, kind of medium output, not too hot!
As far as shreddy Ibanez guitars go it's incredibly grown up and I always forget how good Japanese made Ibanez build quality is! Easily comparable to any boutique builder in my estimation.
Just need to figure out what colour to paint the top now, thinking a faded sonic blue maybe? :)

They do look the part in light solid colours (if no flouro ;) ) Sonic blue's a great colour, maybe the more greeny one (surf green is it?).
You going to colour match the headstock?
-
• #6090
I'm fighting the urge to go fluro :)
Not going to match the headstock as it's got a really pretty rosewood cap on it as it is! I might see if I can source some ivoroid tuner buttons and get some cream Strat knobs or speed rollers on there too!I'm feeling this faded sonic blue though for sure.

Bellied acoustic fix.

Amazing thanks @Fatberg. £25 from amazon so definitely going to try one out. I’ve been driving my wife crazy researching for a replacement. That being said, has anyone played an Alvarez? They have some really good reviews for their mid range price point.

A few more... (not that there's actually anyone else here with any interest in widdly widdly pointy guitars)
:)
Headstock is a bit dusty as I haven't changed strings yet and it needs a set up as previous owner had it set up for D standard so the trem is a bit all over the place at the moment.

Is it just the top your thinking of getting painted? Would be ashame to cover such craftsmanship.
-
• #6096
Yeah just the top, If I'm honest I'm even starting to have second thoughts the more I look at it! Perhaps a Mary Kaye White top or Butterscotch Blonde even?

Srsly tho', I reckon you should leave it as is... It almost has that Washburn Nuno vibe, which I quite liked at the time...

Ha!
I'm not gonna bother... Who wants to be that guy that turns up to a show with a guitar when he isn't even on the bill?
