I mean I know the Fender sound is traditionally described as "scooped-mid" but to my ears the frequencies which remain in the Fenders I dig are more accurately described as upper-mid. That short of Silverface upper-mid rasp that cuts though in a way that the modern amps don't.

Sounds about right, I’d always end up using very mid-heavy pedal settings and still get annoyed with the lack of ROAR or bite from them.
Laney LC series worth a look? Hybrid Brit-USA sound that records nicely and sits well in a band.

I'm not in the market at the mo. I have my 1970 Champ which sounds sweet as a nut and it PLENTY loud enough for home use and records beautifully.

If I was going to start playing guitar out again (not unpossible) i'd probably be looking at something deluxe-ish

Got my Jag back from the shop today, so happy... I'm totally and blissfully in love with this guitar... Even tho' it keeps fucking up, could this be the end of the problems?!? Hope so... Sounds incredible through the Twin... Ugh!!!

That bridge looks damn sturdy, the jag looks ace - would love one.
Where's the bridge from? Do they do beefy saddles for Strats too? -

dat pickup lint tho.

Looks exactly like my old jag, which I also loved. I couldn't live with the bridge though and sold it on after switching permanently to my les paul. Gorgeous machines.

It's a Staytrem, made in Kent of all places... Solid as fuck, hope it works out... More like an old skool Mustang bridge, not rattly, properly machined, etc... Comes in two radii so works on Jags or Mustangs or what have you...
I think it sounds beefier too, not a hint of sitar-ing which was happening with the other two bridges I've had... This could all go tits up in two weeks tho' so I'll save my praise for a while...

PS I want a Bigsby equipped 335... And a B-Bender equipped Tele... Thanks!

I've often dreamt of putting a bigsby on my les paul. B7, ideally. The idea of drilling it leaves me a bit wary, but that thing that did the rounds a few years ago for no drill mounting of a B7 had me seriously considering it.

Do it!
Decided I do want a Jazzmaster as well after all... Is it the 'truest' sounding electric guitar around? So crystal clear...

If you had to guess as to the identity of this, what would you say? Obv a Strat, but what flavour?

Would be pushed to say, but isn't that bottom edge kinda.... straight? Truss rod access and tuners imply Far East. Logo placed a bit high. Where's the pic from?

From a weird eBay auction of a neon sign with a guitar stuck in the middle. Wondered if it might be worth snatching up because of the guitar but god know what it really is or what condition it's in.

Excuse the spam

I know, I know. It looks great, doesn't it? Hows tuning hold up with bigsby?

The truss rod didn't go to the top until the 70's I think. Ask for a hi res picture of the back of the sign somehow, that's where the serial number would be then stick it in here:

I have no idea, never really used one for any decent amount of time...

Heh. Cool amp and good price. As always of late... I'm broke.

Jag looks fantastic TS. That bridge pickup looks beefy too. Matches the bridge.

It's a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder, sounds really great!
I used to rehearse in at a place that had those hotrod whatevers. I found that you ended up turning them up and up and up in an attempt to poke though in a loud three piece band but all you succeeded in doing was disappearing into the frequencies already occupied by the cymbals and bass. Rubs.
