Ha word.
Cool, from what you've said there the jazz seems like the one. You can always make a rich sound trashy by adding fuzz, but can't really do it the other way around. Cheers buddy.
Anyone flogging a Jazz?

Telecaster basses or OG P-basses, whatever they're called, are beautiful... I played a very heavy one once, put me off...
I'd actually recommend a Dano Longhorn, short scale, records really well and sounds great through a fuzz box... Made of cardboard tho', so probably not a great touring rig...

I'm flogging a Jazz!

I just had to pay £400 in late submission fines because I hadn't bothered filing, what turned out to be a £35 tax bill on my income from music last year. Please buy my bass.

I made a vow never again to play surf on anything other than a Fender! I can't even practice on my acoustic because of it!

I'd recommend Matthias:

^^Thanks man. I try. Am on a mission to keep the creative process rolling and get things finished and out there. Got quite a backlog still to record but that's a brand new one.
It was written on holiday in the hour and a half I managed to get to myself every day when the baby went for her siesta. Did a iPhone demo when I got back last week and managed to find 2 hours yesterday afternoon to record a few live takes and do a rough mix.
Recorded the banjo part last night in a 20 minute window of freedom while my wife was trying to get the baby off to sleep upstairs before going up to take over myself. Got the baby off, had a sandwich then finished the mix lying in the spare room at midnight last night. Posted it today and am looking forward to the next tune.
Still struggling with the concept of online self-promotion but am resolved to keep churning out the goods and up the promo game from absolute zero effort to maybe just a couple of hours a week, if only to send out bios and book gigs.
ONWARDS!

Loving this man, really enjoying hearing your confessional side

I always recommend Phillipe Dubrielle in Denmark St.

Thanks bud. Is it confessional? I always cringe at the term. Suppose it is a bit more personal than usual but it's supposed to be slightly valedictory in terms of hopefully having figured a few things out.
Plus it quotes one of @cornelius_blackfoot 's tattoos which I think is probably a first in the genre.

Quite pleased with how the guitar sounds on this for a change. It's a live take with a newish set of those handmade Tomastik Infeld "plectrum" strings on the Sigma.
Singing into the Mojave MA500 with an SM57 on the guitar (and banjo o'dub). Very minor eqi-ing, compression, a touch of room and that's it. Hopefully I'm finally getting the confidence to leave stuff alone!

I only meant confessional in the sense that your songs are often written as stories - there's a lot of you in them, but the subject and the object of the song aren't always the same. This feels like subject and object are the same and I like it. It's very hard to sing about yourself in an interesting way and you've achieved it.
