It's very cool isn't it? Been reading a lot about their recording and writing techniques again. Been doing writing exercises too. Definitely starting to feel inspired again.
Am quite enjoying the Guild again too. It works really well for that kind of Welch/Rawlings stuff. Have written a song to order this week as on laying out the album track sequence I realized it was lacking a sweet major key duet in the Welch/Rawlings style. Me and Lucy do loads of Gil Welch, First Aid Kit, Gram and Emmy Lou covers as country duets but there;'s nothing of that ilk in the current recordings and I can't put any covers on the record so I decided to write something new to order.
Am quite pleased with the results even if musically it is a paper-thin facsimile of Long Black Veil/One More Dollar by GW/DR.

Some very lovely and talented people are making an album, and have a kickstarter to fund it, if anyone wants to support the arts.

At least it's not fretless to boot.

GASing. You'd think guitar dads would have come up with a less farty acronym for gearlust by now.

Album update.: decided on track list but found that two tracks only exists as super-squashed low-quality sound files so going to record new "live session" type versions.
Wrote a new song to order to give the selection a better balance. Literally filler. Hmmm. Need to record that too but then I wrote another new tune that I really actually like. Maybe i'll stick that on instead.

This should really go in the music maker's page but hey, I'm looking at monitor controllers to go between by Duet II and two monitor systems.
My budget is very limited so it needs to be cheeps and hopefully not shit. Anyone used a (standby for moar dick joeks) Big Knob Passive?

Speaking off bass widdlery. Every time I turn on 6Music at the moment they're playing Thundercat. I do not get it.

My rule has always been 'make the album as good as you can make it at that time'. Bands who saved their better stuff for later records never got to make later records.

If you don't get it you don't get it. Thundercat = future jazz God.

I haven't looked for a few months (no point until my stuff is out of storage) but the big knob passive looked best bang for buck under about £500 or until you start needing more outputs.

Oh God I thought you were my people! Primitive rock n rollers! Goddamnit
Actually speaking of which I want to pick up a fender bass for my surf thing. Dirty, fuzzy, one note bass line biz. Should I be looking at a Jazz or a Precision?

Never listen to the singer, learnt that early... But it was still too late... And I'm super primitive, more so the older I get! ;)
I love Jazz basses, not a big P-bass fan... I love that deep round sound, had that in spades on my long gone MIJ J-bass... I still miss it... P-bass might be better for gnarly...
