  • I think that looks pretty good with that hardware actually.

  • yeah it's growing on me. it's beautifully put together - action like a gnats nut hairs. thank you mister ned steinberger!

  • put an ad. in guitar mag, for someone to swap hardware
    ya never know

  • 'tis nice though

  • ta murts. i've been asking around on ye olde basschat - most folks seem to be of the opinion that if you really must - rattle can the fuckers.

  • Right, I've ordered a strip of 3mm thick stuff. (complete with plates to hang it in the doorway of my walk-in freezer!) from which I should be able to cut at least 4 guitar straps.

Hey BlueQuinn how did the straps work out? I still need one for the SG.

  • Got some pedals for sale chaps!

Creation audio labs Holy Fire. £70

    HBE frost bite flanger. £80

    Dunlop MXR Uni-Vibe. £80

    Sweet deals.

I've got the plastic, and the hole punches, but am still awaiting the arrival of a strap cutter and end punch from America. I want to do a proper job :-)

  • Have you seen google's homepage today?
They have a playable guitar for Les Paul's birthday.

  • Yeah, wicked.

  • Will I get away with one of these?

    Or this?

    Sound quite sweet the googlitar.

Blue quinn Can you pluck it on a touch screen?
Could you make the straps from the tyre cutter and punch that makes this?

Co z I could ask my friend Betty from Velo-re who makes these belts

Proper dad guitars, noice... Anyone got a Flying V they wanna sell? Or a Travis Bean T3000?

  • Sheeeeeeit you must be pretty flush to be after a Travis Bean, how much do they go for these days? I've got an old Kramer DMZ something or other that has an aluminium neck and a strat-style pickup configuration. Look at it- can you hear it sustaining?

  • I Could never afford a T3000, even in my wildest dreams...

  • Will I get away with one of these?

I dunno if your'e being serious but I got the Gretsch version of the first guitar, and ended up swapping it for the second. All the hollowbodies of that kind at that pricerange felt like toys. The Godwin, on the other hand, is one of the most beautiful things I've ever owned. Sounds a shitpile better to my ears also, even acoustic it sounds beautiful. Deffo recommend the latter.

  • Try and find one of these. I got one, it's awesome.

  • Want this.

I tried the Googlitar (nice word!) on the iPad and you can strum the strings, but no sound or keyboard control because those are Flash.

I don't know about the cutters. are they the same? I made a belt from an old tyre once. Tyres really don't like to be cut. The vinyl is going to be easier.
I have ordered one of these to get a neat consistent width all the way along:

and one of these to make the ends nice and neat:

According to USPS tracking they went through the Chicago despatch office on 1st June. No word on anything happening to them after that, which might mean they are in Royal Mail's hands, or they fell out of the plane :-)

  • BleakReference,
Can I have my 339 back yet?

  • We swapped!

Thanks, yep serious. Always wanted a white Gretsch style semi. I've seen the Godins around and was tempted because I don't have an archtop any more. The "drive" you get from an acoustic archtop is unique when playing slide or ragtime fingerstyle.

Yeah same - I did my work experience at a guitar shop and sat right in front of an Eddie Cochran re-issue for like two weeks, fell in love with the damn thing.

But those G5120s aren't even worth the name Gretsch - toys, to a man. TOYS!

If you're in Stokie you're welcome to come check the Godin out, they're really sweet little guitars for the money.

  • all time fave guitar in the history of everness...

    until this happened...

  • My take on that is there are so many guitarists but not so many guitars, so it's inevitable that you will get that scenario.
Like people saying I've got "one of those dire straits guitars" about my resonator. FFS
