  • Back off, I saw her first.

My youtube history says I saw her on April 11th, any advance on that?

  • .

  • Gish was perfect
I saw them at Reading when they were touring that album. They were unreal.
They took a big nosedive after that for me.

  • I wonder why there aren't more women on cycling forums, guitar forums etc?

  • just one of those mysteries I suppose

  • I know “I was being ironic” is the worst possible defence on any forum, but, in my defence, I was trying to make fun of the “she’s mine” thing.

  • Think i made a real find today. Mikes Music Workshop close to home in Bognor. An amazing store, he seems like a real decent chap. Shop full of instruments, he carries out repairs and setups. The website is pretty poor but the store looks excellent. He also runs a music school with group and private lessons so I’m gonna get signed up to a weekly group (£8 per week).

  • Ditto. Hope nobody here thinks I was being serious. Well, not serious about the implied ownership and agression of the ironic "back off she's mine" or whatever. I am entirely serious about finding her attractive. I'm pretty sure that's ok.

  • Back on topic, I'm loving the uni-vibe. I've found it works best before drive as when placed after is seems to suck a lot of tone and the sweeping effect feels like it takes out a lot of high end. When it's placed in front it's doing the chewy wobbly swooshy thing perfectly.

Loving it with clean tone as well. In fact the reason I decided to get one was that i've been learning some tunes off Ry Cooder's Paradise and Lunch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B5Y3eSgGOk

  • I found the JHS episode on Univibe instructive, I didn't really understand the difference between univibe and chorus/vibrato before that:

I think the univibe tone that everyone thinks of is definitely pre-drive, or into a driven amp, rather than after distortion or overdrive.

  • I can't stand chorus but really love univibe, because Hendrix I guess... Never had one, scared it would lead me down an impure path!! 🤭

  • It’s surprisingly easy to make weird and filthy noises with that bear no resemblance to JH. It is definitely addictive tho!

  • Hondo has knobs.

  • Looking great man!

  • Can anyone recommend me a pedal board? I've had enough of my crappy old one. I want space for around 10 pedals I guess.

  • I've got the Pedaltrain Classic 2, perfect for ten standard sized pedals... I know there are more boutique options these days but it works, don't get the flight case like I did... 🤡

  • The Pedaltrain one I got (Pedaltrain Classic Jr) seems pretty bang on for the money. Welded box section aluminium, light and tough, decent padded bag. I put 8 pedals on it but that's because my power supply has 8 outs (also, the Fuzz War is gigantic). I reckon you could squeeze 10 Boss-sized pedals on with flat enough patch cables.

Pedaltrain sell mounting kits for various power supplies, be aware that you need to drill the chassis to mount them, but it's pretty simple.

Edit: the Andertons product pic shows 5 boss pedals in a row on the Classic Jr. The Classic 2 is the same height but a full 6 inches wider than the Jr.

  • I've got a Pedal Train too. Couldn't fit a power supply underneath so I put rivnuts in and then thread in some feet off eBay. Works nicely, but worth considering.

  • Pedaltrain Classic Jr

Another vote for this one. I've got two big strymons and one small strymon on the top row, and a load of dinky lads at the bottom - it's the perfect size for a ten (or so) pedal board imo.

The flight case it comes with is REALLY big so I'd get it with the soft case if I were you.

  • Soft case looks like this, for reference.

Voodoo Lab Pedal Power mounted underneath (haven’t organised the power cables yet, job for the weekend probably). I had to order the power supply mounting kit separately (they do different ones for different brands).

  • Ta loves. Last question, will mounting two small 5 output powers supplies be an issue on a pedaltrain classic?

Edit: fuck it i'll deal with that later. Just ordered a Pedal Train 2 off a shop in Bournemouth via Reverb for £99.

  • You’re good with a Pedaltrain Classic - they’re raised at the back with room to mount the power supplies underneath. I’ve got a Truetone CS12 mounted under mine.

I’ve had two Pedaltrain boards - a Classic and a Metro, they’ve both been perfect. Sturdy, not too heavy, robust soft bags.

  • You'll have no problem. Depending on the type of power supply you probably just need to get a pair of mounting kits, which are irritatingly pricey compared to the good value for the pedalboard itself. Or just velcro the things straight to the underside if you think heat won't be a problem.

  • My Pedaltrain Classic had a mounting kit with it.

You could probably use 3M Dual Lock tape (pedal tape) to stick it in there, though.
