I also get embarrassed ordering pizzas in front of friends or at least I would if I had any.

It's been the 1970s up here since about 1985. Old school it maybe, but gammon and pineapple is still very nice.

As far as I can recall, pizzas only came to Britain in the 1970s. I can remember the excitment of having a pizza in about 1973 and my mother's horror that some friends had fed us food with garlic in it.

Australians started to appear in the 1980s.

As far as I am aware, Australians are not cooked with garlic although that might make them more palatable.

Sometimes my mum serves up some stuff which takes its influence from her polish/swiss heritage... " food" as my dad refers to it.

As he stares daggers at my Mum: "No son of mine would eat garlic."
