If Charliebikemonger's Surly chainring alone is £32, would this entire 32t/33t crankset at £35 + £6 p/p be a contender?
http://archie-wilkinson.co.uk/truvativ-crankset.html
Those Truvativ cranks are 175mm, which can make for pedal strike unless you have a high BB.
Which you probably do on that Kona?
I think a few people have 175's and it's ok if you're freewheel. For a beginner bike they'll probably be fine Rick.Trawl here

and look for some cheap Shimano Hollowtechs or similar.Or TS posted a link way back <<< for some cranks on eBay that were about £20, 26t complete with bashgaurd. Margs and some others had them once but I can't remember who made them.

Joni - yep, 175's might be OK but don't actually need new cranks... just making a suggestion for Bells' problem #alsosneakilygainingknowledge
Your 32t chainring is on and working well. Woohoo. (Might be able to slam the wheel a bit more with a half-link.)
Main issue now is getting a whole 26" front... I used the wheel off my Rockhopper on Tuesday but that bike's kinda sentimental and I'd rather not mash it if possible...

I'd be up for this if the BIN wasn't too high. The sizing's a bit vague too, I'm either medium or large.

Sputnik rims are always ready to go, just say the word and I'll bring some to polo (£20 each).
So what's the widest tyre these rims will take? What have folks been using? Ta.

38c on mine, easily.

i emailed the hurling helmet guy and got this;
"Hi
At the minute I have 5 xsmall and 2 medium, I sold 10 to a fella at £28 each (£280) helmets are £30 each. I've to get another shipment in, how many are you thinking of buying and what sizes etc. Depending on the amount of helmets you are looking The price might be cheaper
Let me know thanks"
I know there not mycro helmets but i think £30 is good, im going to get one next week if the one im bidding on goes over £30 is anyone wants to join me?

Dan: You can go up to 42c on a sputnik in my experience, maybe even 47c... they're wide rims.

If he could sort out a very large one (and tell me what the sizing is), I might be, yes.

• #2196
Same for me.
-
• #2197
And me. And may be interested in a small one as well.

• #2198
I'd like a hurling helmet, my Bauer pisses me off...

everyone measure your head;
"The medium size is 215mm by 150mm
Small is 210mm by 145mm
Xsmall is 205mm by 140mmUnfortunatley they don't make them above those sizes don't know why think it's because of the machines they use, I was looking large aswell,"
i dont know why he didnt just measure it properly with a tape measure though... maybe someone with a hurling helmet already can measure theres so we can cross reference

Rough math suggests:
X Small = 55cm
Small = 56.5cm
Medium = 58cm(Face cages suck.)
who's that for?
