  • yes! especially those kids on mountain bike with saddle sitting too low zipping like a motherfucker on the pavement.

i'm pretty sure someone said in another thread that the police are doing that at the moment. which would also explain why i've seen two cyclists pulled over on OKR this week.

a reason to jump red lights...

that's not a reason to jump red lights in the slightest.

    and check the date.

  • Maybe we should all ride on the pavement in protest of rubbish unsafe cycle lanes/roads. I see Boris is now doing an escorted cycle Friday for the next 8 weeks from designated points into town. Most annoying thing recently is when these kids come from behind a parked cars cycling the wrong way causing you to swerve into the road or slam the brake

  • Maybe we should all ride on the pavement in protest of rubbish unsafe cycle lanes/roads.

no, cycling in pavement is dangerous, I strongely oppose this, if you really want to protest, just ride on the road instead of cycle lane.

    road aren't dangerous.

  • wasnt being serious about pavements, but half the main roads on my commute have dangerous potholes. And half the time I do ride in the middle of the road, but its others I worry about.

  • I think they should throw life size child dummies under the wheels of cyclists who run pedestrian crossings at speed whilst peds are trying to cross. That would shit the twats up and be more effective than a fine in making them think twice next time.

Jeeez whats the problem with jumping the odd red? aslong as you steer* around *the peds it's all good.

last copper to say this to me added: "what would your parents think"
I said: "I'm an orphan sir"
    he said "whats you name"
    I said "oliver sir"
    conversation ends.

Fucking QUALITY!! I'll try and remember that one.

Maybe we should start a **'funny things to say to police' **thread?

They should arrest cyclists who ride on the pavement.

I got fined £40 when I was 17 for cycling on a pavement, complete joke. Now I just ride right in the middle of my lane, fuck them.

  • that's not a reason to jump red lights in the slightest.

    and check the date.

    dad? is that you?

i know the date is 2007 but there IS a reason why some people jump lights - you stay clear from the cars/vans etc that clip you or even kill you... if they seriously want to have cyclists in London then they have to provide some safe routes (Boris posing with a bike is not enough)....

  • wasnt being serious about pavements, but half the main roads on my commute have dangerous potholes. And half the time I do ride in the middle of the road, but its others I worry about.

report the pothole to TfL then.

  • Rieley should be fined for that avatar. It's fucking annoying. Turn it off.

  • Rieley should be fined for that avatar. It's fucking annoying. Turn it off.

    I agree. Consider it done

  • report the pothole to TfL then.

I've reported about 15 potholes around here in the last 2 years.

Guess how many have been repaired??

    Fuck All....

  • i' d be there for two weeks reporting the potholes. Its the councils job to maintain and keep check of the roads within their borough not mine.

  • I agree. Consider it done

    thanks

yes, but it's also up to you to report them so they will repair the potholes, they're obliged to.

iTfL pass the details to the local highway authories, it works very well.

  • Ha! Kittenkill when you start an unnecessary thread!

I wouldn't say unecessary, I though it'd be nice to warn people

  • Anyway, bottom line, ride on the pavement, RLJ, just don't be a twat about it when you do

  • last copper to say this to me added: "what would your parents think"
I said: "I'm an orphan sir"
    he said "whats you name"
    I said "oliver sir"
    conversation ends.

So you didn't ask him for more fines?

  • ^ Fox may have done that one above, but I'm not sure:

  • I wouldn't say unecessary, I though it'd be nice to warn people

Wasn't saying that this thread was unnecessary Fester, but there do seem to be a lot of kitten killing threads recently:-(

  • I wouldn't say unecessary, I though it'd be nice to warn people

Not the thread starting so much as the mini-rlj debate that ensued.

  • Should have guessed it would happen really, maybe that should be a future forum option, being able to lock threads you've started?

  • You can do it now. Go to Advanced edit mode and chose to lock the thread.

  • Now I just ride right in the middle of my lane, fuck them.

Good idea. That makes sense and is safer, as long as you don't get some dickhead who tries to force you over or out of the lane.

I get tired of all the kids on mountain bikes all over the pavement in Stoke Newington and Stamford Hill. And it's not just kids, either. I wish people would just have the balls to ride their bikes on the street. It would make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists.

Hmmm, it's not in thread tools and I can't find it in post editing mode... :(
