A Bout de Souffle was so fuckin exciting to watch one night on BBC2 when I was 15... got me into films properly, probably.. the soundtrack was a massive part of the excitement. That and Belmondo, the jump cuts, Jean Seberg, the scene with Jean Pierre Melville... what a film!
Jeez those French films around the late 50s are stormers.
