they were coming free with the classic jersey, can't really have any complaints

  • i bought two but haven't figured that out yet
yes, pink loops on mine would suggest that there should be some attaching hook inside jersey but couldn't find any...

I thought the pink loops were just for ease of taking them off.

    If they're pink, this >>>

    It's just marketing horseshit.

Funny, but a repost from further up. Don't worry though, it takes real dedication to pay attention to people waffling about Rapha for so many pages.

For sure, I should have pointed out that it was certainly a repost ! Just couldn't be bothered to check out that much pages. 'Look haggard. It still sells.'

  • Anyone tried the Raph+Paul Smith trousers?
Is the material a lighter weight than the regular Rapha trousers?
    How do they hang?
    How reflective is that dot?

  • Slightly OT, but you guys are more likely to be interested than anyone else.

  • Question, how exact is the sizing on the touring shorts, and do they stretch the way jeans do?

    Cheers.

  • touring shorts I found a bit snug, especially around the upper leg - if you've got 'sprint' thighs I would go a size up if you want them to be regular fit. I'm a 34 in swerve, but had to go to 36 in the touring shorts, even then they're quite 'tailored'

They fabric has some stretch in it - it's sort of like a harder wearing version of the fabric the gillet is made from.

  • Cheers. Exactly what I needed to hear.

    is it padded for cycling?

  • EDIT: Maybe a hyperlink to the page would be better?

It's more that it's high quality and bespoke, or nice but pricey if you will.

Obviously I realise Rapha is far from being bespoke, but I'd have thought the quality and attention to detail would be appreciated by a discerning Raphalite.

Also as it's bespoke it's not just for women who look like underwear models.

  • On a more Rapha related note, has anyone tried the Rapha Pro Team Bib Shorts? They crop up on the bay more than the classic's. Rapha talk about the pad being further forward for a more aggressive fit.

It's not something that appeals to me, but cheap bibs do. So I was just wondering if there's a noticeable difference, or if it's just marketing guff.

    Cheers.

  • It's possible the sizing might be more 'sporty' so you could aim up a size from normal

  • EDIT: Maybe a hyperlink to the page would be better?

no, i've decided it's a waste of time to follow it

  • I meant as opposed to a large picture of a woman in her underwear, a la:

    is it padded for cycling?

    (potentially nsfw)

True. They are quite tight around the top. Great shorts though.

  • Any essential cases flying around that nobody wants/needs/cares about?

  • Cheers. Exactly what I needed to hear.

True. They are quite tight around the top. Great shorts though.

Yeah - they're good. Tend to bunch up at the top a bit - but they're the only pair of cycling specific shorts that I can wear to a meeting without being embarrassed, which is important given that I travel to most meetings by bike atm.

  • Wait, what kind of meetings do you attend wearing pro team bibs ?

  • One can only assume they are epic meetings.

  • Can'ne afford Rapha this year, but On-One have just sent an email thing out about todays daily deals.

    http://on-one.co.uk/i/q/CLOOMER/on-one-100-percent-merino-wool-ls-top

£19.99 for their 100% Merino wool zip'd top. inc postage! Down from £55 which even that doesn't sound bad for a merino top.
Need some bibs too, and they also have some 'factory soiled' (smell damp) bibs for same price.

The website spiel seems to suggest they are fleece lined, or at least have a decent 'weight' to the fabric, maybe more suited to winter/colder weather than summer time?

Anyone got any experience with the On-One merino top and the bibs? I think the price only counts till midnight though so need to make a fairly sharpish decision :p
