Sounds like neswpaper is the best way. Does the pro-team edition size up small? I wear small in classic newspaper.
(Sorry)

Sizing is really inconsistent. I'm a solid Medium in Broadsheet, but I have to size up to Large for the Pro Tabloid stuff.
-
• #20354
It does size smaller, so if you want race fit get the same size, otherwise go up one

@ anyone who works for rapha- will the pop up shop be open in Mallorca this coming week. I know its there until tomorrow for certain, but if it were to still be there come Tuesday, that would be fantastic news.
(especially as I want to try on the data print "aerosuit"/ get some new bibs).
(have been wearing my skinsuit to ride anywhere and everywhere recently, so convenient and comfy).@jim1985 I suspect you'd be a small. If you can wait till the bank holiday weekend I can bring you one of each size of Race Cape to try out. (me and gf have matching ones (medium for me, small for her.)

I find wind jackets fine for damp roads and intermittent showers. They tend to get overwhelmed in heavy rain though, and a proper rain jacket will be better. The race cape is great because its breathable enough that you can use it instead of a wind jacket in most situations, but it is properly waterproof.
No one jacket will keep you warm and dry on an alpine descent if the weather really turns though.

Thanks for the offer mate, but i work just down the road from the london shop, so will just pop up. Have you got one? Worth 165 big'ns?

I bought two of the sky ones when they were on ebay for 75... were worth that for sure.

I've got a medium racecape. Have so far not worn it in any of the weather it was designed for so can't comment on if it's any good or not. If you want to give it a feel/try it for size, you're welcome to pop by (SE6).

Thanks. As soon as in try one on I'll want it, so am trying to resist. Just not sure if something like that is worth so much given the amount of use it will get! But that's the point of raffa innit

This sounds very good, has excellent reviews, and vents under flaps on the back, but £££:

I do think having a properly pocket able waterproof is a really nice thing to have. I rarely have to use mine, but every time I do I'm grateful, for instance on L2P getting into Dieppe at 2am in heavy drizzle which didn't let up for about 5 hours, and being pretty much bone dry and not boiled in a bag.
Might be worth having a look at Gore-tex on ebay as you're small, I got a used one on there for ~£25 -

Just ordered the 'to the sun' bundle now its reduced + 15% off.
Didn't realise it was Pro Team.
Sending it back if its sh!t.

Ive done couple bloody awful descents in my racecape. It keeps everything it covers dry and free of windchill. Makes the rest of my body jealous.
I want a race cape onsie!
-
• #20366
Race cape trigger pulled to use the 15% code whilst I could. Intend to try it on and consider whether to return it or not, but I imagine as soon as i touch / try / smell / look at it i will never want to part with it.
I need to unsubscribe from rapha emails, they're just a hole in my wallet via email

So I bought a black xxl ptj from DJ for a ton and it suited what I wanted more than the red xl one I had got for £142.
Stupidly I put the red one on again before sending it back, just to check. You know?
Then I did a commute in it.
Then I rode 50k in it.
Last night I wore the black one over a hoody to go to the pub.
So I now have two ptjs and really like both. One for fast, one for casual.
I suppose that at an average cost of £121per ptj, it's not too shameful.
Damn you Rapha you saucy, lovely mistress.

I have a Race Cape in M - I'm very skinny but tall and it fits well.
I like it, but I got it for £75 :). Definitely keeps out the wet and cold, and I've worn it for 5 hours without really noticing. It can get a bit clammy in there but this is more a problem for start/stop riding (for example mashing away from traffic lights and coming to a halt 100m further on a commute).
Packs away but will fill a jersey pocket completely, and I've been worried about it coming out of smaller pockets (for example on my Torm jerseys). Really well fitted across the shoulders but you look ridiculous as soon as you move over 3ft away from your bike.

I might be interested in that. How long are the sleeves? I wonder if I would be M or L depending, I'm 6'3 so they need to be reasonably long for their size if that makes sense.
-
• #20371
Go to evans or cycle surgery and try it; most stores have them, the all black everythang is a wiggle exclusive which is what I have
-
• #20372
Will bear that in mind, thanks mate let me know if you're going to get rid of it to someone else.
From memory, you're a bit broader and less pathetic that me, so a M may be too big though - will try the cape first.

There's a CS around the corner, I'll see if they have some. Cheers.

• #20374
Having ridden them a second time, I've decided my medium leg warmers are too small. Anyone with a large pair fancy a swap?
