no, the holes in the sleeves are from my thumbs when I was pulling them off. When they are wet they are very
fragile and stick to the skin. Pits could be moths. Why don't the moths eat the howies? -

Even Moths have standards.

Sigma have good deals on the Ice Breaker base layers.
I bought one as they get good review - they had M/L in log sleeve the other day
I'd assume the Torm one's are decent? thought not much cheaper. Craft seem to make decent stuff, a score at the minute at sigma...

that reminds me, I have to buy the knitted hat.

I really like the new country jersey's and hats.
They will be making the xmas list.
I prefer the womens rain jacket colours to the means. meh

I think Rutland do too at the minute.

I got a pair last week, tested them out in drizzly rain yesterday, water beaded on fabric, dry legs, well chuffed with these!
The schizzle fo drizzle?

So with the baselayers should I buy a size smaller?
-
• #13735
I got some new baselayers in black and the fabric looks a bit more dense than on my old ones. Might hold
up better. -
• #13736
did you buy your size or downsize?

So with the baselayers should I buy a size smaller?
I usually buy a size smaller.
Medium jerseys and small baselayers seem to work well together.

in rapha sizing I bought 1 size down. I have a L cross jersey and M baselayers.

It hadn't occurred to me to do this, and would feel a bit odd buying a "small"
-
• #13741
So small baselayer, medium Classic jersey, and a large Pro Team jersey? Crazeee...

I'm generally: L base layers, XL jerseys, XL wind jacket (though L would be a snug/'race' fit), L softshell (go figure). I have some L jerseys that fit, and some XXL (e.g. the original lightweight jersey).

I am happy to report that the knitted hat fits my tiny head.

Have to chime in on the Rapha baselayer love, by far their best product.
Late to the party but... +1
Mine look like they've been dug up on Time Team but work perfectly.

^^ Absolutely disagree. I've had mine for 4+ years now - still feel like new. Dhb on the other hand are wafer thin and are always changing shape/shrinking. Total junk.
my sleeveless merino base layers (both of them) start to rip apart with holes and losing shape after 6 months. Probably I need to check the washing machine.
Super comfy and warm but I can't throw away 2 base layers every 6 months. -

I love my Rapha Merino Base Layers, but it's time for some new ones now. However, at about £60 a pop, I'd like to know if there was something of similar niceness for less priceness.
Torm.
They use a sportswool mix so they're harder wearing and easily washable. Mine are still going strong. Still just as smell proof as my icebreaker, just cheaper RRP and tougher. Only downside is I still don't think they making long sleeves.
Otherwise I'd just try and find a deal on some icebreaker stuff. But it's not really the best time of year for base layer deals.

^^ Sportswool is a bit meh IMO. It's alright as a mid layer but don't want it in a baselayer (soft merino is better).
^^^ Washing at 30* is a given?
Wow what do you do in them??? Fight wars?
