Probably some sort of confirmation bias when a study backs up your choice of Marathon Supremes on the functional bike, but anyway... excellent study! :)

I thought it said that the answer is schwalbe almotion? I'm not familiar with these tyres.

Me neither...
- Weight: 610g (1.50") / 780g (2.00") / 870g (2.15")
I guess there's always going to be a trade-off between puncture protection, rolling resistance, and weight, so depends on use/user preference.

Jeez.
Proper tractor rubber.

Anybody tried Compass Barlow Pass?
-
• #4607
Just say no

... But they look so nice :(
-
• #4609
Overrated
-
• #4610
had them for over 2000kms, 0 p___tures - gravel and tarmac (some of the shittiest) roll good, plush, tread on rear wearing and sidewalls just starting to darken up but still another 1000km in them I reckon...will be buying more

Corsa G+ 70psi on latex rejects every flint - 1500km in and SO impressed.

Anyone want challenge Paris Roubaix 700x27?
-
• #4613
I rode 200k with new Corsa G's+ yesterday and got three punctures, FML. They are not going to cut it for Audax like Pave's did.
-

Mad. Onto my second set. 500km in, no flats.
What roads? -
• #4615
Round the Chiltern's, loads of rain and small flints killed them twice, other time was a pot hole(so can be forgiven). I rode Pave's year round and probably had less than 5 punctures in about 6500 miles.
They just seem a bit fragile, and I cant really take the risk on longer rides of multiple punctures with a bit of rain. Will stick them on my summer bike and get something else I think.
Decent puncture protection and nice rolling tires, does such a thing even exist?
-
• #4616
Sounds less than ideal. Latex tubes? Still swearing by mine for flats/speed.
-
• #4617
Butyl, but would that make a difference for flats?
-
• #4618
GP4000 & latex. GP4 Season if you want a little more puncture resistance?
-
• #4619
Latex is more flexible and likely to bounce rather than break upon impact? IANAS
-
• #4620
I will give that a go before dropping money on yet more tyres I think.
-
• #4621
I have one of these, but the 25c comes up nearer 28c on my rims so it doesn't really work with my clearance/mudguards, didn't want to risk getting 23c and finding it comes up at 23c not bigger

• #4622
Cool. Good luck.

• #4623
Four Seasons with the whole winter on them made me reasonably tyrenoid but only a slow puncture that rolled me into the pub in Beaminster where the club president bought me a tea.

loads of rain
Lol

Tyre pressure and rider+bike weight?
^ So the answer is Vittoria Hyper or Schwalbe Marathon Supreme.
