Robin Gibb lives in a rather large house up the road. Would you like me to have a word?
Much obliged.

Ty Charco for that really awesome quote. Its really good. Who coined it ?
Arthur Schopenhauer... i found it on wiki but that shouldn't detract from it's relevance.

You are kidding, right? If not then you need to take some time to let me know what does 'pierce your conscience' so that I don't pursue my current path into a cultural abyss.
My cultural abyss, as you term it, also means that I have no idea who the Truman family of Eastenders are.
Pity Mozart and Shakespeare, neither of whom knew of Michael Jackson either. If Michael Jackson and Eastenders are your idea of culture, I suspect I am well away from it.

he was good but he was no stevie wonder - let's see if there are the same amount of bedwetters blubbering when Stevie goes to that great vocoder in the sky
Hehe, be careful though Wayne, those bedwetters can get very vexed ...

Get you!
Sooooo, you think of yourself aong the same lines as Mozart and Shakespeare eh? You are one cultured fellow. Stating that MJ was not talented beacause you don't like him is laughable.
MJ is firmly part of popular culture, care to define your notion of culture? If you despise popular culture then I recommend you step the fuck away from this forum, or at least keep away from the dead 'celebrity' threads.
As to quoting my other posts, read them first buddy. I loath much that is on telly, but I like to spend time with my wife so I put up with it.
Off to bed, got to get up at 5 for some live Big Brother....

Just as a bit of an addition to why MJ was a legend. Pretty much any song he has made is just impossible to withstand without nodding your head or moving in a little dance. There's a reason why people liked him so much.
now turn up your speakers to the full and listen to this song. music legend

Good post Eddie. I was never the biggest MJ fan but can appreciate talent when I see it & MJ sure as hell had that as proved above.
The list of flawed musicians / poets / artists is endless.
My two penneth is RIP Michael Jackson and thanks for the entertainment and inspiration - both in what to do right and what not to do.

ahh the internet, its all just people's opinions isnt it. here are a few of mine, in no particular order...
what the fuck is up with his short trousers? and hip thrusts always remind me of dogs humping legs.
never a great fan of his, i didnt like his voice but appreciate that a lot of folk did and his mark in music is huge. the influence he had over dance, fashion (a questionable credit), and direction of music is immeasurable.
jokes about child abuse/rape/sexual violence are absolutely, unquestionably wrong and its lamentable that anyone would think otherwise. imagine if you, your brother/sister, girlfriend/boyfriend or your own child had been abused or raped by someone, i doubt you'd be making jokes about it. it will never ever be funny. the effects dont just go away after a few days, they stay with you forever and im amazed and saddened that there are so many people that think jokes about those subjects are fine to make. cheap shot jokes about the fact that he's died on the other hand, pfff, go ahead.
child abusers/rapists have no right to any sort of goodness. die slow, but do die. (im not saying he did it, cos i dont know. but if he did....)

If this is your genuine view, I feel awfully sorry for you.

To be fair, Clive confided in me the other day that he's rather fond of a number of David Hasselhoff and Modern Talking records. You could say that he has a particularly German sensibility. I'm hoping to next play him Heino's version of "Schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuß".

This can't be stressed strongly enough.

I find the post mortem **divination **of people like Jackson and Diana Spencer rather distasteful.
Do you mean 'deification'?
