  • There's one in Simpsons cycles at the mo, looks alrite.

  • Apparently, Specialized doesn't like shorter people, or they think shorter people can wait longe... 52cm isn't available till early Jan 10... so I was told by all the bike shops who picked up their phone.

  • Customer was asking after frame and fork of one of these and specialized said its a no go

  • Hmm. Really not a fan. They should have kept at the whole alloy malarky. Having seen this close-up, the details are just all wrong. Looks cheap.

They should have just done the s-works frameset in A1 tubing and left it at that.

  • I agree with you veLLo on the forks, looks like it's not been polished enough. A few dodgy little details but it's good for £500. I'd still buy the Bianchi

and short people can just wait or buy a kids bike or whatever

    heightist

  • Just picked mine up, really pleased with it, rides well looks good, not sure about the brake levers and will have to get used to the saddle, my usual is a flite so feels a bit different.

If you find the Flite to be more comfortable, I do recommend you to put that on your bike.

ExTra - Have you considered the Kona Paddy 2009 instead? These are on sale everywhere and the straight fork looks better and the ride is fab. I'm 5"4 and ride a 49cm which is a perfect fit. I originally tried the 49cm langster which was too small (52cm was better). We shorties are stuck with compact geometry but imho the kona looks less 'compact' than the specialized in the smaller sizes.

  • Does anyone know if any of these are actually in the shops yet? I can't find one, and I believe that they become available around 10th January?
    Anyone ridden one?

  • is this a joke?

  • Utfs

  • second week of january it is then....

  • i've seen them in quite a few shop.
Condor has one in their window.,,, as do Apex Cycles in Clapham.

  • Cyclesurgery Great Portland Street had 3 on the shop floor

  • Anyone had a go on one?

  • specialized concept store has had one in the shop for a couple of weeks now.

  • hard to get the city versions of the langster into the uk though ):. Looks like we're stuck with the 2 standards versions. Still decent bikes though.

  • does the steel langster have a flip/flop hub???

The steel does come with a flip/flop hub yes, if you are still looking and persevere a lot of places have some decent sales on - got mine for £400 yesterday.

It does look a bit too sexy though and I was glued to my window last night like some sort of sex-pest checking for movement through the garden. Deffo not taking it out til I get my NY mini this week.

  • Evans have 10% off online and in store until the 10th of Jan, so you'd get £45 off the normal langster and £50 off the steel langster. Not too bad.

  • I am tossing up between the Specialized Langster and the Charge Plug 2010. Both are £499 from my local Cycle Surgery and both look cool - with the Charge slightly more sexy in my view. Technically I can't tell them apart either - so what do the experts think?
