  • Horrible news. Rest in Peace.

  • Terrible news indeed.

If people are hoping for publicity about this story, then one way would be for the police to issue a still of the lorry involved and also set up some kind of interview / appeal alongside a member of the family plus a picture of the poor woman involved.
Quite understandably family members don't always want to do this.

@ Oliver Schick: are there any details on what kind of hit and run this was?
Sometimes the drivers are genuinely unaware they've even struck something (although I find that hard to believe).
Other times of course they know full well and drive off.

  • I'm saddened by the news, it is horrible.
    RIP

  • Tragic news. Sorrow for her family and friends.

    RIP

  • When will it stop?
    How can it be stopped?
    What can we do?

    RIP

  • RIP xx

  • Awful news. RIP.

  • absolutely terrible news, RIP.

  • @ Oliver Schick: are there any details on what kind of hit and run this was?

No idea. Nothing in the local newspapers yet by the looks of it.

  • I drove past the scene in the same direction on A102 a few minutes after it happened. Honestly, it was horrible and sickening to look at as the lorry literally run over the cyclist. All my best wishes to the family of that woman. Rest in peace!

  • This sucks, my thoughts are with her family and friends.

Oliver, keep us posted with any developments.

  • RIP this is a very sad bit of news.

thoughts are with the friends and family.

  • Tragic, RIP

  • Tragic when this happens. My condolences to the family and all those involved.

  • horrid news, peace to those who will miss her.
i trust karma to do the lorry driver over, should they not hand themselves in.

  • Tragic and absolutely unforgivable for not stopping. I commute in on that road cos it's safer than A2. RIP and thoughts for their loved ones.

  • Sad, sad news indeed.
My condolences to the family. RIP.

  • I'm oh so sorry to hear this, and the lorry not to stop too, my heart aches for the family and relatives.

  • Sad.
Time to prove that those CCTV, which control us 24h, are actually useful.

  • R.I.P.

    So sad and infuriating.

  • such sad news. if there's enough immiediate news and appeal attention drawn to this the driver will realise that its just a matter of time before they are caught and hand him/herself in. otherwise they'll keep quite. best wishes to all affected by this tragic act.

  • RIP, I just dont know what else to say.

These threads always act as a reminder to me to try and be as safe as possible.

  • fuck, tragic news. seriosuly cascading torrents of lame. I damn well hope they catch the driver.

    ride safe peeps.

  • R.I.P
sad news. Not the best way to start a monday to read about another Death. and the hit and run really makes you question who we share the roads with.

  • Sad sad news, saw the ghost bike at the weekend.
I live 400m from this junstion and is on mine, mrs.C's and a good friends commute route.
It's a shocking junction for light jumpers and arctics from Sainos/Asda and buses cutting across lanes.
There is loads of cctv down there so hopefully the spineless twat will get his come uppance!
Sympathies to the rider and family.
