In my community? .........because I'm black?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
I'll leave it there. Everyone can read what you wrote, and draw their own opinions.
no, don't leave it there. you've dug yourself into a hole, if you aren't prepared to explain yourself properly then please don't post links to a selection of gory knife injuries. what a cop out.

That said, I'm fairly confident that I am the next most ignored person, after Paul-Michel.

ffs, nobody hates you, nobody ignores you. we love your lists. what the hell is wrong with you man.

lpg, what do you think the first ever knife was used for?
It was indubitably a weapon, with which to help kill prey. Food eating was still done with hands back then.
First use.....a weapon.
I don't want to get into this argument. I know, in a way what GA2G is trying to say, but I do believe this thread had a perfectly innocent intention. But, just to be a pedant archaeologist, the first knives were used to prepare food, hides, bones, wood and other organic materials (reeds, roots, vines), not as weapons. I highly doubt there were nutjob neanderthals running around leaping on boar and aurochs with flint blades. I wouldn't fancy my chances against a wild boar with one of these, beezer for skinning a deer though.

I'm a fan of Wusthof but the best filleting knife I've owned is an Gustav Emil Ern, both German manufacturers…

Mine too. His regiment were all Gurkhas, and they gave him two whilst they were serving with him. They got a lot of use when he was on border patrol in Hong Kong, hacking the foliage away. Really nice.
hong kong for my dad too. uses it in the garden whenever he can.

Wow this is even worse than the beginning of the car thread, i'm off to the coffee appreciation thread to troll about how hot coffee can be lethal and as such should be banned, won't someone think of the children!!!!!
On a slightly more serious note, yes, knives are used for killing, does that mean we can't discuss them? Honestly, all this PC shit has gone too far, i've seen a few stabbings, right, it's not the nicest thing to see but it doesn't mean that I butter my bread with a spoon because I can't bear the sight of a knife! Anything can be used as a weapon FFS, people need to bloody lighten up.
On a less serious note, I love this ad:
Porsche- ace cars, good knives, shit bikes
I'm surprised they didn't put the blade on the handle then spend about 50 years trying to work around it to make it one of the best knives around =P

Right Mick?

Shhhhh, everytime you say the "C word" god kills a kitten, a bunny and a puppy, those horrible things that fill our lungs with mustard gas and whatnot =P
Just a question to the anti-knife people on this thread, how do you feel about things like this?
I love them, as do many, many others, and yet they're job is to kill, but they're still beautiful.
Apologies to the off-topic-ness.
Back on topic, i've gotta get me one of these:

my dad has one of these:
I've got one of these as well. But, it's not the issue one, I bought it from the Khukuri knife store in Themal, Katmandu (Naples;).
I've got it on a show stand in my room and only ever oil it every 3/4 months. I have NEVER ever sharpened it and it still cuts skin with a touch. I used to use it when I went hunting or stalking. Absolutely no use apart from cutting wood.
About a month ago the house alarm went of, so I got up, put on some pants and grabbed my knife and ran downstairs. Was only a cat who'd somehow broken in, but my mother came down after me and questioned what exactly I would have done with the knife if there'd been an intruder, I'm not sure.
Anyway, great blade, no Jap craftsmanship to then tho. I like to think of then and American muscle cars, brute power, but absolutely no finesse.

I don't know what that means. If it's sexual then you have my sympathy. And presumably this was before she died. If not, you have my grudging admiration.
