Does the rear wheel really weigh 1300g?

What car do you have?

Berlingo with the Airdream spec, i.e. the most economical version.

1360 with tyre, stans fluid and cassette, weighed on decent scales at my lbs. I think the brass nipples put the weight over what I was expecting but they spin up a treat and the Chris king hubs have zero drag in them

I've got them and so does my brother, basically Archtype rims to some cheap.
Not been overly happy with them to be honest, on his website he said they could last a season of Scottish cross without the anodising coming off, mine came off in one fowl weather road ride. The hubs are not great, always need tightened to stop rattling and the bearings don't last long. Both mine and my brothers have not stayed true for long. They have been used quite hard but I've built wheels myself that have stayed true which have been used harder.
why didn't you return them? his repair/re-truing is very good, and if they think they're at fault, free..

36h 700c rim for commuting/polo. Will be on a disc hub.
Any reason not to go with a sputnik? -

There's nothing he can do about the anodising, to be honest it doesn't bother me it came off, what annoys me was he said that it wouldn't which is a blatant lie. For the bearings he sent my brother a new set then just told him which ones to get after that, I've not replaced mine yet but they desperately need done. Sending wheels off to get trued is not ideal, these are my only wheels I can use on my road bike and would prefer not to be without them for 1 or 2 weeks just to get trued when I can do it myself.

Any reason not to go with a sputnik? If you're not using a rim brake a 29er rim's probably the way to go. If you are using a rim brake... rock on.

• #2986
no rim brake, disc only. any suggestions? sputniks are about 18 quid each.
-
• #2987
I think the Rigida/Ryde 29er rims like Taurus only come in 32h so I don't really have a suggestion I'm afraid.
Perhaps in the polo forum there'll be some ideas.
You're carrying around a lot of extra weight on the braking surface with sputnik. That's all.

cross posting from my CP thread - An Ultegra 12-25 and a compatible chain will play nicely with RED 22 yeah?
-
• #2990
Yep. ^^ No worries.
-
• #2991
Should be fine, I'm doing ultegra cassette and chain with with force22 because sram are shit at making chains

• #2992
Will be a lot quieter too.

RS11's are incredibly impressive value for money (on first inspection anyway.)

I really want a set of those Flo30 wheels.

They are budget wheels you know that.

Yes, that's rather the point.

what for?

For the aero's obvs.

For the haribo obvs.

The width of them mean that I can swap them with the Stinger 4's with minimal adjustment, and the clincher nature makes them more practical as training wheels, the aero aspect is nice, also, and the wide-can-run-big-tyres thing appeals.
Not a chance :)
The rest of that bike is full whore now too. Jagwire link cables, look 566 frame, zipp sprint sl stem, Easton ec90 slx bars, full ultegra, ee brakes, cobl-goblr seat post and selle italia super flow ti saddle. Just need to replace the ultegra with dura ace and it'll be 'done'
