  • which thumb rik??? left or right?

  • right

  • For our throw-in sessions here in Newcastle I tend to wear knee and elbow pads, a neoprene wrist protector thingy(I've had a broken scaphoid and still have a screw in my wrist) and I wear gloves. All fairly unremarkable protection, but I shall be looking into shinpads now after I got impaled tonight on the exposed chaintug bolt on someone else's bike. Not much flesh on your shin, so it went down to the bone:

read what has been said previously about the 661 comp gloves.

    Anyobody?

  • They look alright to me John, but as with most branded gloves, they will probably just have single stitched panels and clever features that lead to the glove falling apart in no time.

Why don't you ask the guy to do some R&D with you... ruin gloves over time until you find one that truly stands up to abuse, etc.

It looks like a similar glove to the Dakine Defenders that I'm currently using... they were my glove of choice when MTBing back in the day but they've started to wear a little already (it's been two weeks).

  • better and cheaper

(they were £24.99 until today, fucking CRC)

  • So only object is using lacross gloves?

Was thinking of going the whole lacross shoulder chest protection as well as helmet anyone else tried that.

  • I've ordered a pair of these "Warrior Tempo Elite, Lacrosse gloves"

£33 posted, They should arrive soon so I'll let you know how I go with them.

  • dt uses these too, and James aufbruch

  • So many people have bought these huge gloves and stopped using them cos they are restrictive. Have you actually hurt your hand badly sandy, so you really need that much protection?

  • Had a few knocks, got quite a bad one on sunday, just having a relaxed knock about

I've broken my hand before(not through polo) if it happens again I'm screwed for being able to work and I don't get sick pay.

I just got them in the post and they are a lot less bulky than the other lacrosse gloves I've come across.

  • my concern would be the thickness of the palm, but if they're like Em's they'll work well, though his are now almost palmless!

Let us know how you get on.

  • I don't use the left one because I found it too restrictive on vertical movement for braking. Mine are different to those Warrior ones above (Josh is using them too) and the Warrior ones seem less restrictive. So if you're left-handed and want a glove for your mallet hand then let me know.

On the mallet hand, I don't find it restrictive at all. Over time, the glove actually moulds to your hand.

Somewhere else in this thread, Em said to tape up the thumb of your mallet hand - definitely worth emphasising again.

  • Yeah, just using on the mallet hand makes sense to me.

    Maybe J, how much?

  • £20 maybe - bit less than half the price of the XL gloves (extra charges for bigger sizes). 13" in their sizing, which is probably ~XL in normal riding gloves and it's never really been used.
