  • k,srsly.... LOW is like FUBU - comes from the ghetto "for us, by us"...

Funniest thing I've read in ages

  • It's basically inverse snobbery.
Although the Mash is overpriced compared with the Vigorelli, it's a good frame, made from a Columbus Airplane tubeset, and built up to a standard.

The Low is just a boggo tubeset, built down to a price.

And people who think that copies are better than the originals either own a Tokai Les Paul Reborn in which case fair enough, or they are wrong, and think instant coffee is nicer than real coffee :-)

  • Inverse snobbery my chain-whip.
The main 'plus' on the Mash frame is being a Cinelli, coincidentally is also the main reason I see it as a fail.
LOW is made in SF by the Macaframa guys, fair enough, may be a boggo tubeset (as you say, not me), welded by a blind man, but in the end of the day it's a 'streetracer', innit? They have fuck-all to prove.
Alloy faux-pro?!.. it's a dead start already, the whole concept.

  • So it's basically a fixie skidder frame face off ? MASH get Cinelli's Taiwanese robots to make their frame, Macaframa get a bloke in a shed ?

Trying to argue one frame is superior because they mean it more maaahhnn is just silly. I'd personally go for the Airplane tubset and Taiwanese Robots, but get a Vigorelli without the hipster mark up of the Mash (which I did).

  • needs bigger down tube so the company name can be even larger

This has to be worth putting into the mix surely? Bit of a mash faux lo pro rip off but with tidy welds, inoffensive paint job, fixie skidder steez galore.

  • That is very nice

  • Does every bike maker have a faux-pro frame designed by a Fixie Skidder Collective now ? Above is a leader designed by "Pedal Consumption".

Does LFGSS need to get on the bandwagon ?

    got a mash perchance?

    anyway
are otp Vigorellis proper track bikes. crank length/bb height ? got a lad coming down on one soon.

  • Dodici Gara frames are nice for general tark business (dodging busses, riding backwards, being a badman etc).

They're neatly welded and have a few cute details. Like the Mash they're not built too light anywhere. They also come in any colour you ask for.

  • they seem really nice and tidy. I just dont like the fact that on the smaller sizes the frame starts to get lower and lower and the head angle goes down:

If I want 54-55 toptube I have to get size 51? Whats up with that. I know its c-c but anyway the small sizes don't look as nice and the front clearance could be thighter.

If I want a low and stable track frame ill buy a steamroller(or actually I dont because I already have one).

  • look like I'd need a 49cm one then.

  • rake looks weird...

  • look like there's zero rake, but doubt it.

  • It's just a small frame isn't it? Head angle needs to be shallower to deal with shorter TT and increase of toe overlap from from axle to BB getting reduced.
And no where near zero rake if you do the hold the straight edge of a small bit of paper up to the screen test.

  • you dont need 72,4 ha on a square 54 or 54,5 frame, and the frame ends up with the same "problems" I (and quite a lot of other people too) have with their steamrollers -> long seatpost and lots of spacers because the frame is just so low.

I've done a seasons track league on my Vigorelli and had no problems re clearence with 170mm cranks, really enjoy riding it on the track.

  • Not with a slope.
