  • Ha! I should have said teardrop seat tube.

    Reminds me of this...

  • What's a teardrop seat tube??! :-$

  • You've got one.

  • Where?! Never seen it...

  • the top of the seat tube, the bit that looks like a tear drop shape maybe?

  • Aero frames look shit set up for street IMO.

    Have a word

  • just to add a bit more spice to the welds argument:
Valdemiro (portugal), custom track (easton alloy)

    **no weld marks **

oh... The frame costs (custom)....500 notes less than a mash/cinelli.

    want!

  • stinky bridge

    Ha!

Can aluminum be TIG welded? My frame is TIG welded and it has a really tidy finish. The welds on the Mash frames* look just like those i had on a Trek 1000 - standard and mass produced, not really much attention to detail.

*I like the pursuit style (ish) sloping top tube, but that aside I reckon they are pretty average looking.

  • Right what I'm saying is this...

    Looks a bit like this...

    IMO

That's a shit build imo..it's got nothing to do with the frame.

  • Seems as if most of the criticisms of the Cinelli Mash is at the price.

Ultimately, if you can afford it, who gives a fuck.

  • and at the paintjob and at the build quality. Everything is about price though isn't it?

If the MASH frameset was £100 I am pretty sure everyone would be saying how great it was. If you remove the price from the equation then everything changes.

  • Aluminum welds can be judged by their shape, not their visibility - eg the welds on the Nikolai are pure porn from a welding point of view.

The problem with the mash is that it is actually a pretty decent frameset, but due to the price and branding it is predominantly bought by people with too much cash who go into BLB/14 and go," build me the coolest fixie skidder out there, with some of those big bmx style wheels" which means most builds are all the gear, no idea.

  • Warning 2p ahead...

Been riding the Mash for 3 Month now and I have to say:
Nicest frame I have been on ever.

For me, its a perfect mix of agressiveness and stiffness.
I had a vintage steel frame before I got the Mash and never got quite used to it.
allways felt like it wasn't "agressive" enough to ride.

But I guess its each to his own with this frameset.
Imported it from the US for what came out at 600gbp and am very chuffed for that price (Cinelli asks arround 1000e for it in germany).

as I said, just my 2p

I would totally agree. Been riding mine for six months now, again I bought mine in the US for £550. By far the best frame I have ever owned/ride. Yeah, the welds are a bit rough but hey, they're welds. Only close up do you notice and frankly it doesn't worry me that much. Colour scheme I know is not everyone's taste but I love it, plus the odd scratch and dirt don't show up really. No regrets buying mine.

My dick could weld better and it doesn't ask for £600.

  • ^ Pictures or it's just a burning sensation.

  • Man, this is your best post so far, i loled so hard. Rep and my congrats.

  • hey just out of curiosity, Cinelli USA website only shows grey frame, where would one find their green one?

  • Second hand, they only do limited (read thousands) runs of each colour.

  • The green finish is not available yet.

    Preorder in US from here...

Or wait till they get shipped to UK.
