  • they are very comfy

  • Stool is an unfortunate name for a saddle, but if it works...

It really really is, I think that's why it took me so long to admit it's my favorite!

  • Scoot that saddle i lent you is a charge stool!

facepalm The other colour looks much comfier though... (< weak attempt at a recovery)

  • Also my 'parts' caned like hell after the Brighton ride. Looks like it's a Brookes for me then.

  • I have my saddle slightly tilted, makes SO much difference...

  • Forgot to say, if I use padded shorts with that saddle I die. No paddeds, perfection. Don't know if that would make a difference for you scoot?

  • Hmm, maybe, I've yet to have the pleasure of owning padded shorts though, I usually roll around in jeans or leggings. I think I'll try out a Brookes and if that fails to live up to expectations I'll probably just get another Charge Stool.

    Up or down?

  • Downwards. I do the same on my track bike. Just a little, not enough for people to notice as the comments get tedious...
Think it has to do with the pelvis rocking forwards, feel like if the tip is lower it doesn't hit the bone. Although a male friend rode my bike recently and found that he slipped off!

  • Selle Anatomica is my partners choice and she has tried them all. The Selle Italia types all use a shell with a padded cover on top and into which you sink. The Brooks/SA type are more like a hammock and with the split the SA provides relief. She did 1000s km on crap saddles/eqpt. and she now has it dialled in to what suits her

  • I bought a ladies Charge Ladle on Saturday from Evans to use on the hybrid and have been fettling it ever since. Back, forward, tilt up (a little too much), back to level, then tilt up a little bit.

I think I have a 3 more weeks before I can return it. This may well be the case but I'll give it another week to come to a decision. In the meantime, I've ordered a Selle Italia XO saddle from CRC (twenny quid) which has a cutout. I'll know which saddle type suits me best within the Evans timescale. I'll be scrabbling for pennnies soon, but hopefully I'll finally have the saddle for me.

  • Picked up my Selle Italia saddle from the sorting office this morning so I'll swop saddles at lunchtime. The Charge saddle was returned yesterday. Saddles with cutouts are the ones for me it seems.

  • I am STILL looking for a selle italia slk lady gel flow in white, if anyone spots any.

rosie, did you not spot my post above? check the auction, see if all were sold, email seller. done.

  • BTW, I'm selling a wsd fizik.

ooh! I clicked on it ages ago but there weren't any left. Fingers crossed they'll have some post pay day...

  • So far so good on the saddle. No problems on the commute if you discount a little discomfort the first two days.

  • has anyone tried selle italia diva ?
Thinking of putting it on my MTB

  • I think that's the one Vee Vee and Clefty swear by but I prefer the slk lady gel

  • BTW, I'm selling a wsd fizik.

    Oooh check you!!
    (jealous)

  • clefty has selle italia ldy gel flow, from what i know. Diva is slightly narrower.
jayloo, is slk comfortable on long distance rides, or rather for racing ?

  • Yeh I have the lady gel flow

  • Sol: I was wearing padded shorts on the cambridge ride and thought my bits had been wedged into the tiniest possible space possible ever in the world of possibly tiniest spaces. I can't determine whether it's the saddle or teh shorts or both. I notice since I stopped riding with padded shorts that when I ride with them I'm instantly uncomfortable, which is a real shame since I built up a small collection last Fall.

  • ha, i'd be happy to take them off your hands ;)
thanks for the info, might not go with slk, but diva sounds ok.

Clefty, you know anything of this one by any chance ?
Gel flow is great on all other bikes, but maybe a bit too sofa-like for the mtb.

  • Oooh check you!!
    (jealous)

oh, I'm an eejit - I thought you said you were buying one. How much are you selling it for?
