  • I get slight rub on inside left buttock. figured one butt cheek was bigger than the other, nothing to be done about it. Am thinking about getting another bike fit, I need to know if I need a shorter top tube.

  • selle italia gel flow is the saddle i use on all my (2) bikes. I find it to be the most comfortable by far

  • I like to mention the Specialized Jett as a worthy saddle, the best thing about it is that the side flex a lots more than regular saddle which mean less pressure on sitbones while cycling (especially with a fixed wheel), really helpful if you find normal saddle a little too hard.

I've ridden on them and find them to be the least uncomfortable saddle I've tried insofar.

  • I'll keep mentioning this saddle. It's ugly but incredibly effective at moving the pressure points away from vitial oragns to parts that aren't a problem:

It saved me when I was messengering and getting this horrible dull, achy pain 6-7hrs into a 9hr day. Once I got it there was no pain at all. It's knocking about somewhere so if anyone wants to give it a go, gimme a shout (PM).

  • Need to try that, will send pm soon.

  • You pair of wallys

  • I am STILL looking for a selle italia slk lady gel flow in white, if anyone spots any.

  • The best saddle ever made has now spawned a womens specific version

I just got really excited by that - I loved my arione till it got nicked - but why does it have flowers on it? Good grief.

you might have a collapsed rail.....

  • ^most likely. Or maybe your pelvis is slightly out of alignment, making it necessary (unless you go realigning yourself) to set the saddle slightly askew. Plenty of people do.

  • @ Jayloo: I seat on the saddle twisted and it is because one leg is 2cm shorter than the other. it comes from my hip, apparently.

  • I used to quite like my Jett - I even went to the States to get a white one (yes, it did end up the most expensive saddle in the world). But now I love my SMP (I've got the Dynamic). It's got a whopping cutout, and it's all curvy (pervy??) so it wraps around my pelvis . . . Seriously - it takes a little getting used to, but definitely the most comfy saddle I've ever ridden. Like most of the cutout saddles I find it works best with a fairly light chamois (my fave at the moment is the Protective Franca bibs - which have a zip down the back for all those necessities!)

Be warned - the SMP website is very confusing!!

  • Would that be the one on your bike when I was there having a bike fit review with Scherrit? I did remark that it was extremely comfortable. Might have to pop over and try again.

  • My fave saddle is the selle italia trans am ldy - it's so good I've just changed the saddle on my cyclocross for one!

  • keep meaning to say...

I had a bianchi saddle previously that came with one of my first bikes. Then I smashed it and had to find a new saddle.

My friend lent me the Charge Stool as he just had it lying around.

But I never thought of it as permanent so I've been trying plenty of different saddles (many of which are mentioned on this thread) and finally have just concluded that nothing is as comfortable as the Charge Stool, and it's so cheap as well. Now I do think of it as permanent and intend on getting a few for my other bikes as well.

That's all, just thought I'd share.

  • Cheers for that nelaii - have just ordered one on your recommendation/price, to switch from the standard, slightly uncomfortable over longer rides, on my Plug.

And besides. I don't feel I can contribute to a ladies drink up without being able to comment on saddles ; )

  • It looks like a baby's saddle tho alex ;)

It makes me chuckle. But if it works for you then good stuff.

  • well maybe when it's not on a bike. But in fairness my bike looks like a kids bike too.. So maybe if I had a massive saddle my bike would look odder than it already does.
Am getting kids stickers from work for my bike. Booya!

  • have just ordered one on your recommendation/price

Hope it's as good for you as it is for me!!

  • Hmm I need a new saddle. Xander gave me one, but is now demanding it back for his ridiculous green contraption. I was thinking of getting a cheap second hand Brookes off ebay but that Charge Stool looks nice too and is cheap. Oooooh choices!

  • well if you can wait until next I see you you'll be more than welcome to try my bike. SEs tuesday?

  • Scoot that saddle i lent you is a charge stool!

  • Ha ^

Stool is an unfortunate name for a saddle, but if it works...
