The same phone can be bought PAYG for £100 from Carphone Warehouse...

Many reasons: scam, uninformed buyer, miss-typed bid, international buyer, etc.

look at the date of the finishing bids.

a friend roped me into doing a bit of market research/product testing for a new phone tonight. £25 cash for 30 mins fiddling with a new phone and telling them what you don't like about it.
i just got a sony c905 which is okay. i like a good camera in my phone so it's pretty cool for that (8MP).
samsung are indeed infuriatingly shit.
that research thing i did last night was for the prototype nokia touchscreen phones. their attempt at an iphone pretty much. big touch screen, tons of memory, window-esque apps and a 12MP camera. i really lked it actually.
i spent all of my "incentive" in the angel on pure brewed and dry roasted. then my slack chain came off when i was bunnyhopping home.
that is all.

I've been watching phones trecently and loads have been going for silly money like this. The winning bidder is almost aways 'not a registered user' anymore. I can't work out what the scam is, hijacked accounts? Meh.

Does anyone have any experience using Invisibleshield?
I put it on my Nokia last week, but there's quite a lot of lint trapped between the shield and the screen, plus it doesn't fit exactly perfect.
What I'm trying to find out is if you can still remove it and reapply, even a week later, or if it will have cured in the meantime. The instructions suggest you can remove it and reapply it when first fitting it by taking it off and spraying it with the 'Shield Spray', but don't know how much time you've got to do that...
Having read that through, anyone who doesn't know what Invisibleshield is is going to be having a 'wtf?' moment, but hopefully it makes sense to someone out there...

i don't think you'll be able to remove, then re-apply cleanly. it's a one chance/hit affair.

For users of Windows Mobile 5/6 OS phones touch screen or regular,
or Symbian S60 III OS phones (some Nokias, Sony-Ericssons, Samsungs and others):A new browser, called Skyfire. I've been using it today, and there is no browser to match it on a mobile phone.
It is faster, and gives a true web page image. Its incredible.

Don't know if you guys know about it so thought I post this....
Aall UK mobiles will be on a directory which will mean that anyone will be able to access the numbers. It is easy to unsubscribe but it must be done before the beginning of next week to make sure that you are ex directory. You may want to suggest it to all your friends and family who have UK mobiles or they could be swamped by unsolicited messages and calls.
Removal is recommended by the BBC – see link below (9 June)

To remove your number go here. (you need your mobile phone with you to do this, they text you a code)

I haven't been able to remove mine yet, website seems to have crashed everytime I try!

I've got a WOT warning (an add on by firefox) that that 118800 website has a poor reputation.. doesnt seem safe to me, specially if it "crashes" everytime you try.

a friend of mine has one of these tag heuer phones. it feels incredible. all that steel. i think they are made for people who have lots of disposable money and don't carry much else around on a day to day basis - they are heavy. he still has the leather covered virtu that he bought a few years ago - also heavy.

My contract with Orange is coming to an end..and i'm wondering what good phone deals you forumers have.
I'm currently on a 12month business plan that costs £21 per month with 500 free mins, inc. insurance and free phone every 12 months. This isn't really working for me as I tend to text a lot more, occasionaly use the internet too. I called them up and they are trying to get me on a new contract which is :
600 minutes, 300 texts and 500MB data for £29, inc insurance and new Sony Ericsson W995. The only thing is, it's an 18month contract which I don't really like, and it's also kinda overkill for me. I would be happier paying around £15-20 for 300mins, 300texts, plus maybe the phone, but for 12 months!
I've been with Orange for years now and i've not had any problems, and they said they'd match any offer I found with another provider, so what are you guys on?

check out vodafones stuff,
300 min unltd texts £15 but that is fr 24 months

Vodafone for £20 with £100 of texts per month and 300 min.
I got it by calling them up, reminding them that I've been a customer for over four years and threatening to leave. If you ask to be transferred to their cancelation department they are far, far more amicable to your wants.
^Obviously time for me to call them again then...

Phone up and ask for PAC code cos you want to leave. Then they give you the good deals.
Great success.

• #124
also ask for a loyalty bonus/payment as Orange give me back £10 every month on my contract

o2 via carphone warehouse for a few years now. I have an 18 month contract with 600 mins, 500 texts, unlimited data for about tenner a month (via cashback).
Worth haggling with your current provider, as cost of acquisition is very high for mobile providers and they are usually willing to cut a pretty good deal to keep you as a customer.
maybe deep down inside..
