it's really upsetting and sad when the police and prosecution service behave like this. glad he got off. shame on the police for this.
i wouldn't be at all surprised if no-one is held accountable for ian tomlinson's death either.

All this stuff is horrendous. Its totally fucked how they can do things like this and apparently seem to be getting away with it. Im dreading the outcome of the Ian Tomlinson case if they are pulling shit like that.

. . . . Also, the investigation into Smellie hitting a protestor should be finishing just about now. I read a report about the beginning of it - he claimed he was intimidated by the carton of orange juice in her hand and that's why he hit her repeatedly with a baton - but does anyone know how it's going / how it went?
"A district judge is expected to hand down a verdict in the case next week."

unbelievable, there is clear footage of him being a psychopath. And he claims he feared for his safety and was isolated from his fellow officers, when they are all around him...

That journalist should watch out - his microphone and pencil look a lot like weapons. And why is he approaching from Sgt Smellie's blindside? Clearly seeking confrontation. He's lucky he didn't get an elbow in the face.

Also it is clear from that picture that cuntstable Smellie has been seperated from shi fellow officers by about 5 inches, leaving him to feel threatened and more than within his rights to unarm that rogue journalist

Whoa whoa whoa, lets get this straight. He definitely wont elbow the reporter. From looking at the hand holding the microphone the reporter looks way too frail to take an elbowing, no a backhand to the face and a few hits from the batton should suffice.

it was the right decision.
the police need to be able to do their job properly, and not bow down to the politically correct human-rights obsessed left.

Wishful thinking i guess? the fact he said human right rather than just politically correct. political correctness is a fair gripe, to some extent, but to say "the police should be able to get on with thier job without people moaning about how it's a bit unfair to indiscriminatly attack people in the street" sounds like a wind-up to me, which is fundamentally what he's saying

I don't think he is being sarcastic, heat of the moment and all that shit blah blah blah and the woman did sell her soul to the Devil to the tune off £26000 so what she believed in went out of the window for financial gain unless she donated the money to charity which I don't know about.
The police are cunts for doing this, this innocent bloke could have got five years in prison for violent disorder, nasty cunts.
Still ongoing as far as I know ?
I wonder how much longer the Ian Tomlinson case will take, in 5 days it will be a year since the police killed him.
