Have you seen the excuse Apple have come up with for their signal failure? It's fucking gold.

gold
"Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place."

Has anyone got/played with the official TdF app yet? Its £5.99 so want to know its decent before giving even more money to Apple
-
• #839
on the case of tdf 2010, unless you have eurosport it's only on itv4, so if your out and about at 7:00pm then try this iphone.tvcatchup.com, it's free, (you do need to sign up though) but i'm watching the preview on it now and its brilliant!

I just realised that in my room I can make my 3G with 5 bars of reception dip down to 2 bars in about 15 seconds just by cupping it in my hand, so perhaps it's not as much of a big deal with the iPhone 4 as everyone is making out....

Thing is, the antenna is inside the body of the iPhone 3G (as far as I understand), whether the 4G is on the exterior.

It happens with all phones. All phones when cupped or held tightly affects reception.
