ok, not iphone4 related but apps wise, i've just discovered the joys of tony hawks pro skater 2 on iphone, it's awesome, I had it as a game on ps1 and it's identical but in iphone form, just brilliant

okay...
need some help:
after however many years of using normal phones ive just been given an iphone 3g 16gb.
as far as i can tell it isnt locked-on to any network.
but when i try and put my t-mobile sim in, itunes says that my sim is incompatible.
what do i need to do?

superjoe- you need an iphone sim card, a normal sim card isnt going to work. pay and go with "unlimited" 3G can be had from o2 for £10.

Do not EVER download 4.0 for your iPhone 3G (3GS6 should be fine).

The iPhone 4 have 512MB RAM, 3GS have 256, and the 3G have 128MB.

Now imaging squeezing all of the new 4.0 software in such a small amount of RAM, that's right kids, you'll get some leaking, and thus the phone will become quite slow.

it has alot of the features that eat up ram disabled on lower models. software designed for iphone 4 wont work anything else so thats bollocks.

i want an iphone 4, but im gonna do the geeky thing and wait til the price comes down, and the jailbreak community gets me free access to apps and modding the phone.

I can't wait that long... as soon as tescos get some in stock im jumping ship to their tariffs.

Unless Tmobile pulls something spectacular out of their ass, I'm out.

and jailbroken now

I was running Jailbroken 3.1.3 and then updated to 4.0 and it fucked it right up, i got a cartoon of steve jobs speaking russian on the screen and couldnt get rid of it. Anyway now im running jb 4.0 on a 3g and its fine.

Sweet! I used to have a Nextel in 'merica. I would say things like "10-4" on it. Such a cool way to communicate!

Does anyone know if there is a music app that would let you mix between tracks? I'm sure there isn't because it would have to operate outside of iTunes. But for anyone who's ever tried to do on-the-go playlists at parties and such it is such a pain.

Imagine an app that would run dual instances of iTunes and let you fade between them...

ios4 is fine on my 3G, OK its not super-fast but perfectly useable.

It's not geeky to wait for the prices to come down (geekier to queue overnight outside apple stores and all that jazz), but other than the 2nd hand market, which is a long way off for the iphone 4, I doubt the prices will come down much, if at all. thats how apple and its carriers roll - look at the 3GS, its still as expensive as it was!
