  • Someone is trying to use your phone to deposit no less than 200 million us dollars into a UK mainland bank account.

  • unlock your phone when you plug it in.

    it's a privacy thing I believe.

    My iphone has gone weird.

Up to this morning if you plugged it into a laptop via the apple to USB cable you could browse the pictures that it had taken- now they no longer appear.

Also, previous to today it would upload images to Flickr quickly and easily, not it has real issues with any sort of upload.

Now the second issue could well be a network based problem, but why, when I can browse the pictures on the phone itself, are they no longer showing up on in the folder I open on the laptop?

    Here's as good as anywhere

  • So I just put my girlfriends phone in the washing machine by mistake! The battery was flat before it went in and I put it straight in a bag of rice when I got it out. Just wondering if anyone has any other tips to try save it? She doesnt back it up very often so I really need to save it.

  • Don't turn it on until its properly dry. It'll take days

  • Yeah, bag of rice and don't be tempted to take it out before about 3 days. You could change the rice after a day or so. Also, pray.

  • Anyone else having iPhone issues after installing iOS6, or just cheapskate me?

My phone will no longer sync with my iTunes. Apparently I need the latest version of iTunes. The problem is I cannot download the new iTunes until I update the OS on my Mac. I'm still running on Leopard so I'll have to upgrade to Snow Leopard at least.

Might be useful for others to know before updating to iOS6.

Crap, I'll have this issue when/if I ever connect my phone to the computer.

Anyone using ios6 + mail app with hotmail found a way to stop emails being deleted from the hotmail server if you delete on the phone?

Had it set to never delete from server on ios5, option seems gone now.

  • anyone had their iphone fixed, I've just realised that my home button is on the way out, and the power button has kicked the bucket.

Been doing a couple of google searches for repair places in london, anyone recommend any specific one, of are they all much of a muchness..

Looking like its going to be between 60-80 notes for the repairs..

  • Regarding the Home Button. A few months ago I found mine to be really unresponsive, taking sometimes 3-4 pushes to get any sort of response. I scoured the net for solutions, some involving cleaning, most advising to get it replaced.

I happened to be passing an Apple store so took it in for a look. I was shown how to close all open apps which were running in the background which were essentially slowing down the phone and therefore the time it took to react to the Home button. Double-tapping the home and then holding down on an app (like if you wanted to move an app on the home screen) will bring up a red X. touch the X to fully close the app. At the time I couldn't find this anywhere on the web, which was strange.

Haven't had the unresponsive Home button issue since.

  • pfiko will try that.

  • pfiko will try that.

The best thing to do for an unresponsive home button is a quick trip to Maplin and some rubbing... ooo er.

    • Buy Contact Clear (~£4) from Maplin
    • Turn phone off
    • Spray Contact Cleaner onto button
    • Press down button hard and rub / wiggle button around a bit (using lint free cloth)
    • Press button quickly around 10 times
    • Rinse repeat until the button is working perfectly
    • Profit $$$
  • soul, will try that after pfiko's suggestion.

Had a home button go skew-whiff on me before and its pretty frustrating,
the power button being kiboshed at the same time is also a bit of a fucker..

It's amazing how many people don't know about this. Or know about it, but don't do it and complain that their phone is slow.

Just like letting the battery die fully at least once a month, and give the phone time to 'rest'. Work any machine 24/7 it's going to wear out quicker.

  • An interesting point. The main problem with the Nexus 7 is that it's not made by Apple.

    Haha knobhead.

  • Oh fuck that's me!

  • rofl even if it was intentional.

  • iOS 6 on my work phone now, I like the folded up paper thing with email replies.

    The Maps look ok also.

It's all going to go wrong isn't it?

  • it will break this weekend, that is when I will do my update.

  • Hi
