  • Got one... if an ipad mini came out with nfc and a (fairly) similar price point, i'd still go ipad mini.

Got too much invested in apps etc, and I just prefer the way ios works. Seems less... faffy.

  • With the recent release of the Nexus 7, the iPad suddenly don't seemed like a valid option IMHO.

An interesting point. The main problem with the Nexus 7 is that it's not made by Apple.

  • What's a Nexus 7?
I cannot find it on the Apple website so it is dead to me.

  • It's a hub gear made by Shimano.
I have no idea what Ed's on about again.

  • Nexus 7, Isn't that the model name of some robots in a Harrison Ford film?

    The Fugitive?

  • ^ is that the one where they're all on rafts because of a ridiculous flood and Ford has to drink his own piss?

  • Is it the one where he blows up the death star?

  • Nope, that's Waking Ned.

  • Frantic ?

  • Phew, I'm glad you chaps are here to clear things up. Ed had me all confused for a moment.

    epic rep

  • You're all kind of awesome.

shame I couldn't rep you in group.

  • Read last week that the iPad Mini will be announced on Sept 12th. Was planning to get a Nexus 7 but may now wait...

  • Apple, please can you make the iPhone search screen configurable? I never use search, but a left swipe to get to my To Do list, for example, would be ace.

Also, hidden folders, so I can stash away anything I want to keep but don't use regularly, perhaps the last page would have a subtle button that you press to view hidden folders.

  • Struggling to see the point in an iPad mini. Midgets? Babies?

People too cheap to buy the full size one?

  • easier to hold init...

  • easier to hold init...

Oh yeah... for people with small hands :)

  • You know what they say about people with small hands.

    They're probably a midget/baby.

  • Just as the iPad filled the gap which we did not know existed between the laptop and the iPhone. The iPad mini will fill the gap between the iPhone and the iPad.

Until they suggested it, I was oblivious to the (now obvious) need for something bigger than my iPhone but smaller than an iPad. Thank you Apple.

  • But what about the gap between the iPhone and the iPad Mini?

There's a market for that gap too y'know.

  • I can't see it, man.

  • If you mean on-the-go/pocket iPad users, that's what the iPhone's for.

I reckon they're going for the niche want-a-mobile-internet-device-don't-want-an-iPhone market.

  • A half-sized iPad is just too close to the iPhone IMO. And it's not even a phone.

  • My iphone has gone weird.

Up to this morning if you plugged it into a laptop via the apple to USB cable you could browse the pictures that it had taken- now they no longer appear.

Also, previous to today it would upload images to Flickr quickly and easily, not it has real issues with any sort of upload.

Now the second issue could well be a network based problem, but why, when I can browse the pictures on the phone itself, are they no longer showing up on in the folder I open on the laptop?
