That's odd, you're already found Bike Radar, what brought you here? ;p

Oh drat and blast me for buying an Android phone.
The only hazards I need to photo are 'tards license plates.

• #204
any way to make the battery last more than 20 minutes when you use GPS?
-

My Omnia sits comfortably in my handy trouser attachment called a pocket.
Handy to photograph hazards like this one in Hyde park.

My iPhone has broken. The 'home' button now doesn't work at all, making it impossible to switch between functions without restarting the phone. Grrrr.
I'm 14 months into my contract and refused the £10 a month insurance (btw it is now £15 for 3Gs!). Anyone know if the upgrade costs are still outrageous? Now the iPhone is coming on other contracts it might be worth trying to hardball o2 and say I'll leave at the end of my contract if I don't get a new phone for a reasonable price.
Anyone had the same problem? -
• #211
^ did you drop it / get i wet etc? If not then the home button not working is Apples problem surely?
-
• #212
I had a slightly similar issue with the home button...on occations it just wouldn't work. The randomness of it made me think it was more of a software issue then a faulty button. I was right, as now (3.1 update) it works fine.
I suggest you format the phone and then restore all you backed up data. Oh...be sure to back-up the back-up. Just to be safe.

I'm having an issue with my iPhone's GPS chip losing and being unable to re-acquire a firm location signal at motorway speeds.
Anyone else found this?
It makes SatNav very annoying as one has to slow to 50ish to get a location signal, then speed up again.

O2 should replace the phone as it's not "of safisfactory quality", even if it's out of warranty. Given that O2 hit you with a 24 month contract, it's plain that the phone should work for at least 2 years.

Re-igniting an old thread here, I was wondering if anyone here uses the strands.com iphone app. It works really well to map my bike rides, and you can replay the route once you've finished. It's also a social networking site, think facebook for runners/cyclists. Battery life on my 3GS does drain fairly quickly, but it lasts the duration of my 1hr commute, and for the majority of the rest of the day. It needs a charge before setting off home again though.

Hi, I am about to move over to an Iphone after months of debating the Blackberry's vs Iphone thing, a customer of mine is giving me her old 2g version soon(how nice is she), when she upgrades to get me started until I can afford a 3Gs next year, so was wondering whats your fave/best ten apps on your Iphones and any other tips would be great too ?????
Cheers

Dialling is a good one I've heard. It's incredible, it allows you to key in a set sequence of numbers and it connects you to another person who has the same app on their phone.....
-
• #224
Whats that ? you still have to key the numbers in ???? surley someone has an app with a dial to go retro & actually 'dial' then in........ i'm distraught now !!

Good apps for cycling: Trails which allows you to import routes from lots of websites such as EveryTrail and is good for tracking your route.
The Bike Computer - incase you don't have a cycle computer. (Ooops just double checked you are getting old tech iphone in which case these apps won't be any good!)
apologies if a re-post.
Just spotted this and thought it could be a way for iphowners to record their journeys. In response to something that was mentioned in one of the (too many) "cyclist down" thread regarding documenting the hazards cyclists face. not ideal but perhaps an option worth highlighting.
