  • ^biased review there if I ever saw one ;-)

  • So; anyone got Developer access? I really want a copy of the iOS 5 beta release...

  • Do you mean that you really can't wait for a software update on a mobile phone?

Yes Ed. Just as you find large tyres, ugly bikes and imparting "wisdom" irresistible; I find the advance of technology or "shiny things" to be equally so.

    heheheehe

  • So Apple are embracing cloud computing, but not any old cloud, this is the iCloud. Nice one Steve, the company will be iLost without you.

At least they might finally be grasping the concept that people could now live with just an iPad and iPhone if they could sync to each other and no longer need a PC at iHome. It was a big flaw in the iPad that you still needed a PC, even if it was just a shitty little netbook to run the updates and snyc your devices. iOS5 might just solve this whilst tying you deeper into Apple as primary storer of your information while they slowly take over your iLife.

  • Watch the keynote, Santos, they're ditching PCs.

  • The keynote didn't bring much to the table which hadn't already been done. Their stock price took a tumble for it as well.

  • Regarding the iOS 5, I just got the HTC Desire S.

I was gobsmacked by just how many feature it have, and how extraordinary flexible it is.

I realise my iPhone even though I've used it for 3 years felt incredibly restricted despite being a lots easier to work with than Android.

What I found funny is that Apple claim they're years ahead of everything else out there which is quite the opposite, so can see how iOS 5 isn't anything special, just a nice little update to an already restricted system.

  • android thread>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    blah loadsa' actual facts

There you go with that wisdom again.

Years ago, people who wanted to prove what special unique snowflakes they were would buy Apple kit. Nowadays the same sort of people do the opposite.

Do you have the 'cargo basket' app yet?

  • Do you have the 'cargo basket' app yet?

I hear the are you leaning too much app is good. With built in gps so you can map your leans.

The pro version (59p) has a winter leaning alarm, if temperature below freezing and you lean it has alarm which sounds like your head hitting the floor. Quite a realistic sound. It then automatically uploads an I just leaned message to your favourite internet forum.

  • while they slowly take over your iLife.

the haters are worse than the fanboys. its just a computer not a dalek

  • He's one of them!

  • Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhones (yes plural) and could not get along without them but as we go down the one computer in your pocket road (soon to replace your wallet) we will slowly hand more of our lives to Apple and be more non-functional when the mainframe revolts and sends us into the technology void.

  • Bring on the void.

  • i for one am delighted to see how cheap the upgrade to lion will be. cheaper in fact than the upgrade i just bought for leopard-snow leopard.

And it's a straight download. £30 all in should be a very worthwhile upgrade, I'll be upgrading my 2009 macbook.

  • £30 all in should be a very worthwhile upgrade

It's actually priced at £20.99 when it launches in the UK...
