  • Which Soma model is this? Looks so rad, looking at getting them in ourselves. How does it handle? Have you ever ridden an Omnium Mini comparatively?

  • Oh yeah I'm aware of that. He had it as a Buy It Now for 3200.

  • Buy It Now for 3200.

which is crazy expensive for that bike

  • I was thinking this trying to work out where he got that price from ha.

It's 3rd hand and to buy one brand new including the accessories he has on there would be £3500ish

I mean they hold their value but I think he's a touch off the mark

EDIT ah I see now, if you check the chainstay you can see it's a limited edition 'Harry vs Larry'

  • electric one like this

    it's not electric is it?

  • Oh you're right, that's not a power unit in the first pic. It's just some bags. I wonder what reserve he has on it.

  • @Vbulman can you fit a Soma on your Soma though?

It's a Soma Tradesman. I've not ridden an Omnium Mini to compare, but I can tell you the Tradesman is very slack (69°/69°) and very long (610mm top tube) meaning it handles best with high-set, swept-back bars like a Bosco or Albatross, and that seems less ideal for the type of riders Omnium generally markets to (Messengers, etc.)

  • If I had a Soma Pickup Artist maybe, but sadly those are long gone.

  • Not sure it’s limited edition, He got it resprayed and decals replaced.

Looks in great condition but As you say 3rd hand.

  • It's been up for a while (and been taken down periodically) but he was asking for £3800 at one point...I don't know what sets it apart so notably from the other Bullitts listed recently.

There's this one as well which has been up for a while

I previously messaged the guy regarding another one without the lockbox that I believe sold for £2100 in the end. It would appear he runs a courier company and is downsizing so if you can tolerate a more basic spec and some slightly ratty paint a lower offer wouldn't be totally unreasonable?

  • Ah sorry, that was sarcasm, it’s not limited edition or special, I was just pointing out he’d messed up the name on the decals of his strangely priced 3rd hand Bullitt

  • This is better as you’re basically getting the alu box for free (Nexus 7 has a coaster brake and that set up is £2500 ish new)

  • cargo bikes are reflecting UK housing market

  • lol didn’t see that, don’t do it!

  • cargo bikes are the next crypto currency, has Musk got one yet?

I've been in touch with this guy. I don't want the locked box and don't want to be stuck with offloading it. He's unwilling to split, at the moment anyway, so I am going to sit tight on it for now. I've asked to have a look at it and a test jaunt of it but he hasn't responded. I would like to check out the frame of it - particularly that scuff in the 11th pic which could just be paint, or a dent.

Agreed on the farcical prices for this one and the other one. (I was thinking £3200 for a second hand electric one seemed reasonable.) LGC and other dealers have brand new ones for not much more, why would you pay that much for something where you have no idea how many miles have been put into the components.

  • The bullitt can be bought as a frame kit for £1750 I thought.
£1400 gets you a hell of a lot nicer build than old beat up Deore so where's the rest of the value coming from

  • What mini cargos are out there?
I really like the petit porteur.
small wheels, rack front and back.

  • from the guy that owns reallyusefulbikes in bristol : http://www.rodfordbuilt.co.uk/

  • i'll get in touch.

  • who has stock?

  • You can't buy one new so 3rd hand beat up ones are worth new price?

  • I was considering this bombtrack before I decided two dogs wouldn’t go on... I opted for the omnium mini max wifi, and I’m still totally happy with my choice!
