@Jonny69 @HousecatHST won't somebody please think of the aeros...
I think you're right though, it's worth trying to turn it the other way. I found this trailer sans wheels at the local recycling centre and it's in really good condition, so ideally it would get some use. Otherwise I would have to source the top bit of pram and a baby harness (à la @t0-ster ).

Progress on the Pashley Pronto - the "old school" BMX headset is a Mirage MX-4, which is a copy of a Tange MX-2.
The cups are supposed to be 32.7mm OD but came out a tad bigger, just over 33mm.
I used my Dremel to file them down a bit and they now fit fine.
Another mild issue is the length of the headtube - a standard headset press is a tad short so something to keep in mind if you plan on doing it yourself.

It'd be safer to have the childseat facing you, yeah?

I haven't tinkered with it since but yes, turning it around is the plan. Fixing it properly to the rack will be the real challenge, I suspect.

interesting, care to share how its mounted etc? Doesent look like its on the bottle cage mount?
-
• #4538
It's mounted on unistrut, that is fixed to the HDPE sheet.
I'll get a picture with the battery removed.

Yup, many a time have I duck taped a cordless drill to a bench with an item in it, and then used a dremel/die grinder to 'precision grind' the item down to size.
A mate donated me a 1950's old school british engine valve grinder instead, is very precision but only for valves with a stem of 5 to 9 mm! -

A mate of mine sold me his (early prototype) Brox quadricycle a couple of weeks ago -his knees are fucked and he can't ride it any more. Needs some work done (different tyres and the paint job removed, for a start) but it's functional, fun to ride and I've been able to build a cargo box for it.

It's just some reasonable quality plywood I had spare, so it won't have the longest lifespan. Template for building something more robust.

Ah ok, looks so exotic.

Awesome! I love Broxes. @hoxtonhopper might like to see this.

It's had three coats of weatherproofing applied, so it looks good right now.

Excellent, dont think o can manage that with the canopy, might just have to sacrifice one of the bottle cage mounts.
Whats the weight of the battery?
-
• #4549
Not sure, 3/4kg. Just look on eclipsebikes for weight of the battery you decide to buy.
I found that the bottle mounts were not hardy enough for the battery.

So I got my cycletruck put together last night and took it out for its first ride today. All good except I'm getting a shimmy when I take my hands off the bars. Anyone else got a cycletruck and that suffers this?
I had a bit of weight on the front of it, not sure if that's got anything to do with it. Meant to try it unloaded after I got home but forgot.
Headtube angle on my drawing is 72deg (will check what it actually came out to tomorrow) and fork is a bmx one with steerer extended so has about 30mm rake. That sound like a recipe for disaster to anyone?

Yeah, I’ve been through this process with my mini maxi
I ended up with the cheap one child halfords bike trailer. It’s smaller than the other flasher bike trailer on the market but the footprint is nearly exactly the same size as the stand cargo rake for the mini maxi. Have you tried turning it the other way round so the narrower end sites under the handle bars. It’s nice to be able to keep and eye on the little one and have a chat too. It does mean it’s like peddling a fridge into the wind at times but I’m not sure it makes much difference.
