It’s because of the seatpost thing (dents, possibly some kind of repair/mod). I don’t have a reamer or I’d sort it out and tidy it up.
I had some snotty ebay messages from someone trying to school me on bicycle mechanics and framebuilding, who took great offence when I explained I was neither an idiot nor trying to deceive anyone. Apparently being honest open and transparent means that I’m trying to pull a fast one.
Anyway. I thought £450 was a fine price for its condition, and build/accessories, but I’d take £400 if it moved sooner than later.

That's a shame! If I needed a bike like that I'd bite your hand off at £450.

I spotted that bike this morning near Blackfriars. It was not loaded but it was bloody impressive.

anyone have experience with Enviolo Automatic hub gear? Mine seems to be getting stuck in low-ish, but not very low gear some of the time. The spinney thing that usually happens when you start doesn't always & hills can be a real effort. Likewise at speed I'm spinnning like a washing machine. It has manual "Enviolo Shifter Box" which also seems to be doing nothing.

I’ve only ever had experience with the manual grip shifter version but think the Nuvinci / Enviolo is a pretty temperamental system that is wrought with issues. I’d take it back to whoever sold it to you, chances are they’re quite familiar with whatever problems crop up with Nuvinci and will know how to proceed.

yes, it's still under warranty. Been reading others with similar issues online. Several of them saying there are known (by manufacturer) issues. Some have opted for manual conversions. Also bit of a faf as dealer (the nearest too) is 12 miles away and I'll have to break down the fixie to get it in the cargo area to ride home on & also have to start using myold deisel van! :-(

For work I'm going to be riding a cargo bike full of toys from a charity in Streatham to another more toy related charity in Archway. Any ideas of good places to stop along the way for photos. Have already done Leake St but will most likely do again with teddy bears on show. Best spot to photo the millennium wheel with cargo bike? Other ideas?

Upgrade time. Currently running a budget 10-speed MTB wheel at the back. The wheel that came with the bike is quite a nice sturdy rim with thick gauge stainless spokes on a 3-speed Sturmey Archer S-RF3 hub. Nice, but pointless. I'm going to re-lace it onto a Shimano Deore M525 hub. No major differences other than definite peace of mind with the stronger rim and spokes, it'll match the front and the wider rim ought to make putting the tyres on a bit easier.
I've been trying to work out what bike uses the S-RF3 hub, for resale reasons. I think it might be a Brompton part, but not with 36 holes.

Deore for cargo bike? Freehub are ok for normal use, but personally would spend the extra £20 and get a (generation just gone out) xt with 36 point engagement freehub, better axle/cone assembly, much better weather sealing and have yet to see a broken freehub on them (see them on various light cargo bikes and bike polo bikes). They come in disc (spline) or rim brake "T" flavour

It's already on its way, unfortunately, so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed and see how I get on. The current one is a bottom of the range Shimano no-model-specified hub and it's been fine.

Manual shifting conversion would probably be an improvement-Especially if you are willing to stay on top of the inevitable shifter / gear cable maintenance it quite regularly needs (pita).
better still would be to move away from Nuvinci altogether.
If it were me and budget allowed, then I’d upgrade to Rohloff in a flash. Otherwise whatever internal gear shimano hub people are using for cargo.

spoke (typed) to Christina at Flying Dutchman Bikes today and she advised trying are-set on the 3-button cadence control on handlebars. So far seems to be working ok. (fingers crossed)
NB, If I eventually end up paying for manual, I would probably splash out on Rolhoff hub

Upgrade to halo spin doctor at £50, replacement freehub easy brought and sealed bearings.

I like the spin doctor hubs. Very versatile, easy to change the end caps

Nice, glad you are sorted

Anyone know the max tyre clearance of the omnium mini fork? With and without mudguard
-
• #4325
20 (406) × 2.25" depending on tire model. If you want the mudguard to go down on either side of the tire, probs max 1.75 maybe 1.95 if you're ok with the mudguard hovering a bit above the tire
That seems like a total bargain! Maybe it's a case of waiting for the right buyer to come along? I suppose it's quite a niche bike so it's not exactly an impulse buy.
