He's the Justin Beiber of F1, I don't care that he can drive well- he's just far too easy to hate.

perez did some good racing in the end.

No love for Di Resta?

It was an awesome race. Loads of proper wheel to wheel racing. Great result for me. Glad Grosjean is back on the pace.
I don't think the Red Bull is hard on its tyres at all. In Ted's notebook he noted that Vettel's tyres were still in very good condition after the race and could easily have done more laps.
I really enjoyed Perez being argy bargy with everyone, including Button, something to do with the fact Carlos $lim was with McLaren all weekend as a potential sponsor?Di Resta did very well.

It was a great fact, some epic moments and great drives.

I can't see the Mercs holding the lead for long. Not with their tyre management.
The battle for the win will be between Vettel, Raikkonen and Alonso.
Kimi FTW!

great prediction!

Thank you! Red Bull seemed to be lacking in long run pace in practice so couldn't imagine them keeping up with the Lotus or Ferrari, I was quite surprised that they needed to switch to a 4 stop with Vettel, I imagine they still wouldn't have challanged Kimi/Fernando anyway. Was really impressed with Massa making his way through the field with some lovely overtakes, something he used to struggle greatly with.
Also impressed with Nico holding onto 6th, Di Resta really should've pushed him and probably could've passed with little difficulty. Same goes for Perez, I hope he didn't give into pressure from the team to hold station. Could've imagined him fighting for 6th/7th towards the end.

Chap in a Maserati booted it past our group as we cycled through Croydon earlier today- great noise, but a truly dreadful stink of clutch...
-
• #3388
If I were in a Maserati I too would want to get out of Croydon ASAP...
-
• #3389
True.
I hope the driver doesn't have to do a three point turn before they reach their destination, or start on a hill.

pity poor hamilton " i can't drive any slower"
-
• #3391
This tyre management malarkey is beginning to get boring. It does show the cars with the most balanced set ups though......, but denies us out and out full-on racing. It's a pity. Personally, as a Hamilton fan, I'm glad Rosberg is beating him. It will force Lewis to raise his game, which he never had to do against Jenson.

^ Lol at the Hamilton/Merc fans harking 'boring'. Ferrari and Lotus have things under control and are showing us genuine out and out racing, how can you not see it?
Merc seriously need to sort it out. Sure they can light up the tyres for a single flying lap but racing is not just about that...
Anyway, this may be of interest, but I doubt anything will really come of it that would affect the race outcome:

^ That's bullshit
-
• #3394
I'm afraid it's not. Why do you say that? That note was given to the teams this afternoon (I do have a reliable source) I think it's referring to Alonso accepting a flag from a member of the public. Not particularly bad but still against the rules!
Still, I doubt anything will come of it.

Nothing important will come of it.

Sorry - I didn't mean that you or your source were spouting bullshit... it's just ridiculous of the marshalls to take a view against it. That's all. I miss the days when this used to happen:
-
• #3398
Well, but what if a a "marshall" handed him as flag which contained some weights in the handle, which just happened to fit in certain places in the car.
Sounds crazy, but this is formula 1
-
• #3399
^ That is exactly the reason such a thing is against the rules.
-
• #3400
it happened after the race finish, why would it matter though?
if anything, heavier car wears tyres more ;)
It's the first win I've respected Vettel for. His car is hard on tyres, and even though no softs were brought this weekend, it was still a notable performance.
Now to ungrit my teeth......
