My two dogs just attacked each other, drawing blood and all in the kitchen.
Not really sure what to do next.... -

Not really sure what to do next....A real fight, then? Not just really aggressive horseing around?
Sounds not so nice.

yup, one's at the vets with a chunk out of the ear, and the top of the other's head is slightly grazed.
the one who attacked is the younger, still full male, and the other is a 12yr old docile neutered male.
Old dog won by some distance despite being on the floor. -

Shit dude, that's not good.

I fear the young stud is in danger of having his dangly bits removed.

but he'll get so fat.
and look at him, he's such a handsome mutt:
the other one is far more regal looking, but fat. -

see.
getting fat is a standard reaction to neutering.we feed them a tiny meal after each walk- two walks a day, minimum of 1.5hrs, including a run every other day and a continual game of fetch with the mutt.

The girl hasn't really blimped, but the guy has gained a bit of weight.
And yeah: he really is a strapping young lad.
And I fucking envy you guys having your own backyards.

Is the black one a lab? I think it's more that labs get fat, rather than the nut removal. I had my pit/staffy x done when he was about 8 and didn't change his diet or exercise, and he didn't put on any weight. It didn't make much difference to his temperament either, tbh. He did live to 16 though.

You can definitely keep a neutered dog looking trim:
Bertie, one of my parents' Golden Retrievers.

And Labs do get fat sometimes. I used to have 2, one got proper fat due to a thyroid problem or something. Lovely dogs though.

I just fed my dogs macadamia nuts and right after someone told me that they are poisonous for dogs and that now my dog wont move for 3 days.
Is there much truth in this? -

call your vet pal, call your vet.
-
• #966
Hmmm I only gave him one though.
I'll see what he's doing tomorrow, if he's looking under the weather in the morning then I'll give the vets a ring.
-
• #967
should be fine then, unless he's tiny.
-
• #968
Nah he's fucking enormous.
He's had some awful stuff and been fine so I'm sure one little macadamia nut will be ok. -

Any ideas how I can get my cat to eat dried food? One cat eats both wet and dry food and is just fine, the other will not touch the dry food and is starting to show early signs of gingivitus. We're limiting the amount of food put down, and have tried mixing it and soaking it a little, but he just will not eat any of the crunchy stuff. Tried a few different varieties when he was a kitten but he's being stubborn as a mule. He'd rather go hungry ... I know it's not good for a cat not to eat for a few days so don't want to push it. Any ideas?

i swear theres a brand that can be either wet or dry by adding water, you could try that and slowly lower the amount of water you add???

Is that stripy dog an example of some craze in China that I was reading about? People colouring in their pets to look like other animals?

my dog is the same - try applaws dry food that is purely meat and veg, no filler. it's naturally quite moist and meaty, with no added nasties. it's expensive, but you don't need to feed that much of it....

The canine equivalent of powder coating a Unipak and writing Colnago on it
