Personally, I rather find a house-sitter/friendly neighbour and leave the little darlings at home, but each to their own... Top 5 Romantic Pet-friendly Hotels

We've not seen James since early/midweek:
If anyone in the Forest Hill area does see him (or a cat answering his description) could they let me know please?

Dammit, have you checked Boots in Forest Hill? He might be stocking up on toiletries again.
Seriously though, come home soon James. Is he chipped?

We found him.
Apparently about 6 months ago he started spending a lot of time at a house round the corner- he was initially called Barry.
Ian (the chap round the corner) took him to the vet and discovered that Barry was in fact James- from his microchip. The vet didn't let me know about this, and nor did he give Ian my name/address/number.
Around about 6 months ago was when Bertie (the big black Tom) and James started to have a disagreement, so that explains some of it.
How do I make James want to stay here, rather than going to see Ian?

he's a cat, I don't think you really can? you could ask Ian not to feed or otherwise encourage him, and make sure he gets put out and so on. cats will tend towards comfort, but they're also willful creatures.

^ & ^^ you're both missing the obvious solution - kill Ian. Its the only way.
I'm sure you still have some of that self-leveling flooring to do Dammit, which should cover the body nicely -

My parent's collie x lab had puppies in September, and I got to keep this little guy, Buddy, he was the only yellow pup in the litter of nine. This pictures of him at 4 weeks and he's four months now.

Er - tell this Ian dude to do one and stop feeding someone else's microchipped cat!?? Vet needs a bit of a rocket too. Why neither of them sought to contact you boggles my mind to be honest.
In other news Will's black beast pics are all awesome!

Peech, your dog is awesome.
Dammit, could you maybe put a collar on James? And tell Ian not to a) steal your cat and b) call him Barry. Barry?!? James looks nothing like a Barry.

Apparently Ian has never fed James, my resourceful mog was going to Ian's next door neighbours and stealing his cats food.
Said next door neighbour eventually put a micro-chip cat flap in, and James got a lot thinner.
This made me feel guilty, the issue is that if we put a lot of food down then Higgs eats it all, and gets even fatter.
