Sadie the miniature schnauzer
Acts a bit like a cat at times by sitting on the back of the sofa but is pretty awesome imo

Got told yesterday that Rudy probably has <6months left, neurodegenerative wasting of lower legs. Plus vets found a lump on his balls (apparently painful- unconvinced of the need myself for the surgery given the short prognosis) so the poor pup has to spend his last days emasculated... He's in a fair bit of pain today, hoping that he'll get better quick. It's painful to see him struggle to walk, he used to be incredibly powerful, and I fear the next few months of deterioration will be difficult to deal with.
Going to spoil him rotten, of course.
Poor pup.Boooo :( Sad times.

Sympathy and hugs in spades. I'm down one dog a short while ago and the other (Chilli) is losing it now too. Reckon only a few weeks to go.
And boo for you too :(

^^cute dog.
I am starting to warm to the idea of getting a dog, which is totally impractical at this point but will definitely consider if circumstances change.
I would love an old English Sheepdog but would need to live in a proper house with a decent sized garden. Has anyone here got one (OES, not the house & garden)? If so , would love to see some photos.

Here's Eira.
Excuse the poor image. Keeping the light low so that she can get accustomed to her surroundings. She's a super snow leopard gecko. -

Cute. Love her name!
Perhaps you can train her to be a bum-gecko :)

Earlier she perched on my head. Feels weird with the tiny claw crawling up the back of the head.
According to some 'normal' people it's strange to find them cute. I don't care. She's lovely

Geckos are super cute, I love them, but they are quite small compared with a cat? I mean, cats have expressions you can see from across the room, their skulls are half the size of a human. I dunno, it helps for relating to them (talking to them etc).
Does she make chattering noises? How old is she? Do they mind not having other geckos around? I only have experience of the wild sort that hang around houses in SE asia. -

Tiny compared to a cat. Atm her head and body fits across my palm with the tail hanging off. I think she's about a month or two old, I'll have to check the notes. You can see them smiling but obviously you have to be a bit closer to see it. Yeah they don't come when called but they can hear you and are quite inquisitive. Due to her breeding she won't be as large as other leopard geckos but she is pretty.
No noises, some of them make a little complaint noise when you pick them up. You have to be a little careful with putting a couple together in a tank, they can fight. A friend of mine has a pair of females who get on nicely after an initial quibble. You can't keep males together as they'll fight all the time. Keeping a male and a female together isn't a good idea as all they do is mate and forget to eat. -
