  • I missed my babies' first encounter with snow today. If their initial (over)reaction to rain is anything to go by, they would have found the white stuff hugely fascinating and fun.
Lordy, I am missing them :(

  • The wolf just managed to walk one paw into some motor oil and then walk it into the house. Cue desperate miaowing as we restrained him with a towel and attempted to clean him up. This was of course all forgotten after a couple of kitty treats.
Boy cats are awesomely fickle. My female cat would have hidden and sulked for hours after something like that.

  • Basil doing his arch back jumping thing. Sorry, don't know how to embed video.

  • nesbit that's brilliant.

  • Ha! There is nothing funnier than when they do that. When mine was little, he'd do that right near you and then end up attached to your leg. Kitten acupuncture.

  • Chris/Serk came over to our place with his dog- both James and Higgs did the side-on/back arched thing in synchrony, it was awesome.

ours is the one that looks like a panda ;-)

  • Yaaay wooohooo. There's more over here! Yaaaaay!

  • They creep me out when they do that, its like a catmonster.

  • Ahem... sorry, wrong thread/sport...

  • You been teaching her some of Luca's tricks?

    Haha yeah you'd think so.

    (It's a he)

  • Does anyone have entire male cats ?
I am hoping to bring home a male black tipped bsh tomorrow..... weather dependent.
He is 7 months and entire..... I would like him to get bulky like the boys do, but I dont want him to start spraying.... when do you think I should get him done ? (as he will be at some point)

Just seen this. From experience, I'd say between 8-9 months is ok. He should start to get that slightly thicker build that you refer to.

They do vary a little, so after 8 months, start to keep an eye on any changes in character. Chester ^^ was brought in as a tom at about 18 months, but has never sprayed anywhere.

I feel honoured for my picture to have been used by you, sir.

  • This is Mika, Maine Coon. Adopted after she decided she hated the four other cats she was living with and was going to kill them. Not just the usual yowling and hissing but full on attacks leading to vet bills. She's calmed down a lot now.

And this is Tiddles, Standard issue Moggy. One eye, 3 teeth, crooked back. He'd been abandoned in the cattery where we took Mika while we went on holiday and was in the run next to her. He was still there when we came back and somehow ended up in the back of the car with us when we went home. Still not sure how it happened. Tiddles is the name he came with.

They both seem to get on ok.

  • ^ It's great when an aggressive and unsociable ( with other cats ) cat finds another one that they can get on with. It could well be that because of Tiddles physical condition, Mika finds her to be no threat and therefore leaves him alone.

  • ^^ Your user name makes me think that I'm using an alias :-)

They'd had the best part of 10 days at the cattery in next door enclosures to get used to each other, so it wasn't as much of a risk as it might have been but they did settle very quickly when we got them both home.

They do still bicker, especially at feeding time, but it's not nasty. He'll chases her tail and she cuffs him round the ear for it but there no claws or teeth involved and 2 minutes later they are washing each other.

  • This morning Higgs chased James out of the cat flap, then Tesla chased Higgs out.

Youth has vanquished experience, this morning.

  • World's stupidest cat, Millie-Rad
