of course being cats, it will probably end up the opposite of what you were hoping for, but you will love it anyway...

All of our three are very friendly, Higgs is not a huge fan of being picked up though.
-
• #4629
I would imagine he has a mass-field that he doesn't like other things disturbing ...

Higgs and Tesla fight each other (playfully) a lot, neither of them play in the same way with James.
(Higgs and Tesla are both female)
Has it all settled now then?
Sorry if I missed something.

• #4631
Yeah man. I thought they were about to kill each other?
-
• #4632
Yep, Tesla became more cat than kitten, at which point Higgs suddenly started coming back into the house, sleeping on the bed, and then eventually started playing with Tesla- they chase each other through/over/under/round the dining chairs and table, then chase each other up and down the hall.
It's quite fun to watch.

• #4633
Wonder what it was about Teslas's youth that freaked Higgs out?
-
• #4634
I really don't know, antipathy of a female cat toward offspring not its own?
Very strange that she's happy about another female cat, but not a female kitten.

Miss Havisham, Estalla complex perhaps..

Having had both, boy cats are much more friendly and cuddly.
my female cat was a right moody bitch sometimes. -

Are you sure they're not just trying to kill each other?

Our boy cat is much more of a lap cat/sissy than our girl cat. She is very aloof, he is a tart.
-
• #4639
Yup, boys if you want cuddles. Girls if you want a super cool mega-bitch (or need mice catching).
Of course, the correct answer is... both.
-
• #4640
James has been bringing mice in that Tesla than steals from him, entertainingly.
Higgs has the finely honed hunting abilities of a kettle.

Yep, the wolf is as daft as a brush, but actually a pretty good hunter. Although I'm still convinced he pays one of the other cats to catch them.

Loving the snow

Holly has now been for 4 walks today, her two favourite games have been burying her nose in the snow, inhaling it and freaking out because it's cold and catching snow balls, she happily played catch the snowball for about 10 minuted non stop. All the fur on her face was frozen by the time we got in earlier!
-
• #4646
yeah - the snow sends our greyhounds loopy too - Milly is just like that - sticking her nose in and snorting the snow then leaping around and sneezing it out. Also very fond of pouncing on the snow and eating it... daft as a brush

Just came across a picture of Higgs when she was younger:

Massive paws

Pinteresque.

It's lovely that she's rejoined us as now. She always used to come and sit near me when I was doing things such as putting in the stud wall pictured above- we called her "DIY cat" as she'd always turn up when I was working.
She no longer does that- seems to be welded to the bedspread most of the time.
neutered males are generally more friendly, make good lap cats. less common to get female lap cats.
