This is Mika, Maine Coon.
We considered getting a Maine Coon, a relative of a friend has just had a litter arrive this month. They're amazing, but our flat is small and we wanted one NAOW.
Basil is a dude though, no complaints.

Looks awesome, just isn't very bright. Think that's partly down to pedigree breeding, her Mum was purebred but got 'got' by a local tomcat, arf

Mike is a house cat, always has been since before we got her. She will go out in the garden but never really wants to go far from the back door. The one thing to be aware of with a Maine is the fur. They have an awful lot of it and they shed constantly. They also need daily grooming to stay on top of any knots and mats that build up if it's not done regularly.
Having said that, Mika loves being brushed and will roll on her back and stretch out her legs so you can get under her armpits as well.

This is Mika, Maine Coon. Adopted after she decided she hated the four other cats she was living with and was going to kill them. Not just the usual yowling and hissing but full on attacks leading to vet bills. She's calmed down a lot now.
And this is Tiddles, Standard issue Moggy. One eye, 3 teeth, crooked back. He'd been abandoned in the cattery where we took Mika while we went on holiday and was in the run next to her. He was still there when we came back and somehow ended up in the back of the car with us when we went home. Still not sure how it happened. Tiddles is the name he came with.
They both seem to get on ok.Wow. Those are some gnarly cats! Mika looks boss!!

We drove down to Ashford yesterday to pick up the bsh.
He is very timid, still hiding under our bed. Meg is very interested in him.
Still cant choose a name for him. His fur is like a chinchilla.... so fuffy.... with black paw pads and black lined eyes and nose, with blue-green eyes....
I'm in love. -

Hi.
He's still feeling most safe under the bed:
Not surprising with another cat eating his food and a three year old stomping about... I have managed to tempt him out though:
He likes my bike too:
Sorry for the crappy phone pictures... He was pretty much constantly moving when out from the shadows of the bed. -
